Latency Issues (200+ ping)

Over the past few months, I have been having serious latency issues. My ping used to be around 50ms consistently, but more recently, it started hitting 120-140ms range and would rarely ever drop below 80ms. Now, it won’t go down below 200ms and I have no idea why. I have tried every troubleshooting method mentioned on this website and tried numerous other things as well. Here is a short list of everything I have tried:

  • Restarted PC
  • Uninstalled and Reinstalled
  • Changed networks
  • Reset router and modem
  • Flushed DNS
  • Added exception for OW on windows defender
  • Added an exception on windows firewall
  • Updated network drivers

For reference, my internet speeds in my room are about 50-70 Mb/s download, but I connected directly to my router via ethernet just to see and ping stayed the same, even with 200+ Mb/s.

I don’t really know what to do because the game is virtually impossible to enjoy when everything is delayed by that much time. If anyone knows a solution or possible work around please let me know!

The ping between the computer and the router/modem looks unstable in this test. There is a 114ms ping happening occasionally. If this is a WiFi connection, then you’ll want to try going wired instead. The high ping results carry through the test on all local and ISP hops before reaching Blizzard.

Ping in-game is unlikely to improve until the instability on the home network is resolved.
