(TLDR at bottom)
Everyone has latency issues at some point or another, but I can’t seem to find a similar situation to what I’m going through.
My latency generally rests between 40 and 60 in games like Rainbow 6 Siege, Call of Duty, and Dirty Bomb. In all of these games I’ll get an occasional, maybe one match every few days, where my latency will rise to roughly 400.
The problem I have with Overwatch is that my latency ALWAYS seems to rest at 400, with maybe one or two games a day dropping down to my normal 40-60 range.
When this first started happening I assumed it would be a universal latency problem across all my games at the same time, but whenever I switch from Overwatch to another game, the other game, almost 100% of the time, has the normal 40-60 ping range.
TLDR: I get a consistently high latency every time I play Overwatch, and this latency doesn’t carry over to any other games, any advice?
I’d love to hear any and all suggestions, even if you think I may have tried it. This high latency problem is making the game flat out unenjoyable to play, which is the last thing I want with the Summer starting.

The same thing happens to me, but the other way around. I usually get 40-70 ping, but get random 500 ping spikes. It crashed my game one time.

I have the same issue with Overwatch, no other game does this.
I use an TP-Link USB Wi-fi Dongle that gives me 50-60ms ping pretty much in any game including Overwatch most times.
I usually test first with Training Range since it shows your ping before i go to comp, i see it’s 60-70, i queue.
But when i go into comp, it goes to 200 up to 1000 and game crashes (takes away my whole internet connection when it reaches ~1200 ping)
Only when i ALT F4 the internet pages start opening in browser and such, “DNS Server can’t be reached” if the game is still running.
Tested on both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands, same issue, 1 in 5 of comp games are a crash at start-up.
I really need to stress the fact that Overwatch is THE ONLY APPLICATION OR GAME that does this, i don’t have crashes or delays at any other times using an USB wi-fi adapter.
Since maybe bout the start of the event, I get these random spikes. I’m normally around 40 lat. I can get up to 90 if I play with friends on the west coast since i’m on the east. But with friends or by self or with all back ground stuff turned off. Doesnt matter time or any of that stuff. I get these spiles that go up to 1000 lat and it just rubber bands me so hard I cant play. it goes on for a good chunk of time then goes away. Doesnt matter what i do. tried looking at task manager. but overwatch the only thing really drawing. Had it happen in 2 ranked matches. just wish i could find a way to stop it. it only happening in Overwatch , that I’m having any problems with
I have the same problem. I have been playing overwatch for 2 years almost and never had latency/ping problems, but all of a sudden since the event started about, I cannot enter any game without having somewhere between 120-300 ms of latency. This does not happen for any other game I play, only overwatch.
