Imagine if the characters from Seinfeld had to make judgement calls and learn from their mistakes… then you will understand how Blizzard or what’s left of it operates…truly, they cannot see the forest for the trees…
The months argument is out the window when you consider 8 of those were without any heroes. You are trying to mask this as if they’ve been releasing tanks and supports for 18 months.
People seem to forget that the game use to have four classes, and so the only reason DPS has twice as many heroes as the other roles is because two of those classes were merged. It’s fair for them to release a DPS hero now, since the last two released were a Support and a Tank.
Don’t worry, the devs are aware the game needs more Supports & Tanks, and multiple will be released with OW2. In the meantime, no one is getting a new hero until OW2 arrives, so why should DPS be the role to go without one for likely close to two years? Are you really so self-entitled that you deserve more free content than the rest of the community.
Nope, that division was platitudes and meaningless, DPS have always been DPS, even devs refered to them as such in Deb updates before the merger.
Nope, because there’s 16 of one and 7/8 of the others. Fair would be for Echo to wait untiL OW2.
They’ve been aware of it for ages and done very little about it. It’s one of Overwatch’s oldest issues and now we are asked to wait until OW2 to get something.
It shows a deeply carelessness.
Because have twice as many heroes as the others already.
No, we just want to have more supports total than DPS have of viable heroes.
Are you so self entitled that you would want even more disparity in the roles? What’s next, should we raise money to help millionaires?
Thank you mister obvious. I was talking about going even further without a new hero. OW is currently at its lowest so they cant take another hit like that.
You can do exactly one thing: Stop engaging with the franchise. Stop spending money, time, or energy. I know I will. I’ve spent a lot of money on OW merch and whatnot, but no more.
Uh… yeah, they almost certainly will do it. Jeff said “at least one more” heavily implying in Jeff-speak you will get one before OW 2 launches. The absolute earliest now that would launch would be Q4 of 2020, most likely slipping into Q1 of 2021… that will be yet another 6-8 months minimum. That’s obvious right? Only a very naive person at this point would think they won’t go another 6 months minimum without a new hero, and odds are more.
I honest to God don’t care how long it’s been since we got a new DPS. We need tanks and supports more. That’s an indisputable fact and it’s going to continue to be indisputable as long as DPS have more than double the other two roles.
Still not fair that DPS players can choose from 17 heroes while support mains can only choose from 7…
And we’ll probably have to wait at least 8-9 months until we get another hero…
They promised us that they’ll try to fill the gap between the DPS and the other two roles… They should have try out other reworks for DPS heroes to make them feel fresh instead… like Cre’s, Phara’s ult is still a “Aim here” ult.
It doesn’t matter how long ago the last Damage hero was, the Damage roster is twice the size of the Tank roster and the Support roster. In fact, it’s more than them combined.
Damage players are spoiled for choice while Tank and Support players - arguably the more important roles in the game (because, without them, Damage players can’t do their job properly) - are treated like the redheaded stepchildren of Overwatch.
Regardless of the number of launch heroes, fact is, releasing a DPS, a Tank, and a Support each year is fair for everyone in the community. Bottom line, it was time for DPS to get a hero. (Shame 2016 didn’t get a Tank instead DPS.)
