What levels of profanity are allowed on the Bliz forums? like im assuming a british cigarette is not allowed, and anything slur based, but what about a casual f-bomb? and if you put an * over a vowel does that fix it?
As a general rule of thumb, if you have to disguise what you’re saying, generally it’s not allowed.
However, Blizzards language filter does catch some odd things, like the last name of Junkrat.

Some really random stuff is filtered, and some obvious swear words or not. In other words, I doubt even Blizzard knows. They probably “keep it to the discretion of the moderators.” In other-other words, context matters. If you direct it at someone, it is probably going to be actioned. If you just casually use it, it will probably be fine. Just use your best judgement.

This is true. Even simple stuff can get you silenced temporarily if you aim it at another poster.
Also true, calling people idiots WILL get you banned. I’ve learned that from experience.
Even if you call them idiots nicely.
But that’s not a language thing, that’s just Blizzard enforcing their “don’t be a jerk” rule.
Fun fact: Bong and Jigg are not allowed (try typing them normally) and by extension any word starting with these words. For example, “I like Orisa’s bongo” is not something you can say on here 
Also, speaking from experience, censoring can still result in suspensions. Like the first letter of the word followed by asterisks is not allowed
