Lagging when in Group

I’ve been lagging when I’m playing with my cousins in a group. We all live together and when we’re playing together I get pretty bad lag spikes and it’s to the point where I can’t play the game smoothly. When I solo queue I’m just fine but I don’t know why I’m lagging when we’re in the same house. They don’t lag at all when we’re in-game and it’s been annoying me.

At best guess, there may be too much traffic on your internet connection’s maximum bandwidth in your home, basically too much water is trying to pump through the pipe. Can you go to speedtest.net and run a quick test and report back your general upload and download rates report them here, it will give me an idea of how much bandwidth you have to work with.

Here were my reports-
Ping MS: 3
Download MBPS: 177.12
Upload MBPS: 582.57

Okay, so your general internet connection and your ISP is perfectly good (and you make me very jealous). At this point there is either too much strain on the router at your own home, or there is a specific problem between you and the game server. These steps may help with your router:

Alright, thank you for the help!

No it’s not your router, it is Blizzard! This has been an issue on Overwatch going on 3 years now. Doesn’t happen with any other game, only Overwatch, only Competitive when you are grouped up with at least one person!

The classic blame your ISP, blame your network; it’s never the game privider’s fault.

I know this is an old thread. But I have to agree with RobbleRobble. I am having this exact same issue, except I am playing with friends that are not even on my network. It is not my router. And it seems that there are many others with the same issue. I am honestly surprised it has not been addressed
