Me and my partner have been trying to play competitive in the morning (EU server, 7:00-8:00 am) in silver-gold elo, and 2 out of 4 games have been ruined by people with this flag wintrading. First match the enemy team was a fullstack of people with the KSA flag, and two people in our team were just walking forward towards them to get killed. Needless to say the rest of us couldn’t do much, so we got stomped. Other match was similar, this time only two KSA flags on the enemy team but the rest of them were also oddly quiet and unresponsive, and just like in the previous match two people in our team were just walking forward to get killed. Unrelated to the KSA issue, we have also had a match were the enemy team was full of bots in this timezone.
Just posting this to increase awareness of the issue. We just want to be able to queue for competitive and enjoy a normal match of Overwatch. Right now, playing on this elo and timezone combination just feels like a coinflip. Hopefully enough of these will popup and someone will do something about it.
maybe its a bit of a precedent set by some of the KSA world cup winning players who are famously minmaxing to get rank 1 on every server whilst telling other big streamers to keep themselves secure because they don’t fear bans and “have so much money they don’t care” etc (you can open leaderboards to see who, I don’t want to witchhunt and get banned)

Wintrading in early hours is something thats been around for a long time, not surprised that it happens in gold as well. I’ve been in a discord server where I think that kind of thing went on, but my arabic is not great (idk saudi dialect and am a total noob) and I didn’t talk to them much (randoms from that region) because they were harassing about me being gay
These WC winning players are famous for win trading, particularly the dps streamer. They’re incredibly toxic as well. Its sad to see the impact they’ve had on the culture of the game on EU; how they’ve motivated their fans who are also largely from KSA to emulate their toxic/cheating behaviour.
I’ve noticed that players from that region used to be much less toxic than they are these days, but I think the fanboys of those 2 big streamers are doing a number on their reputation unfortunately.

Tbh the EU servers are a mess right now, and there’s no fix in sight. Yes you can get the wintraders anywhere, but EU is INFESTED with them. I live in the UK so I’ve experienced these trashbags, and it’s why I switched to NA.
I’m quite tempted to do this as well. There are toxic gamers all over the world but people using the KSA player icon are on another level of toxicity. I’m guessing you need to use a VPN to connect to NA servers? Or is there some other method?
idk about the win trading problem tbh, but middle east servers shut down in KSA so they are funneled into EU automatically cuz thats the closest region to ME.
Yeah I use the VPN from Proton. Been using it about a year without issue. But if I’m not mistaken there are free VPN’s you can use, or there’s ones with trials (I think). What I do though is making sure I avoid using hero’s like Tracer or Widow because of the latency.
At least I can use latency as an excuse to cover up the fact I’m just garbage at playing those hero’s anyway lmao
Also google Mina Overwatch server selector. I gave it a try a few weeks ago and it still works perfectly fine. It’s basically like a mini app type thing allowing you to select a region
Well I can now connect to central NA servers thanks to the Windows Firewall method. I had to block an extra EU server located in Amsterdam and a Korean server that gave me over 200ms.
My ping in NA isn’t too bad, it hovers at around 115 - 125ms (I’m from the UK).
Yeah people appear to be a lot more friendly and chill in NA, but I’ve only been playing there for an hour so it’s a little too early for me to know if that’s the case. It feels good to be away from the extremely toxic KSA player icon users tho.
Minmaxer/wintrader/transphobe and it came out he also sent nudes to a minor a few years ago which was proven. He’s a piece of garbage.
There’s a tonne of evidence that surfaced on the web that he’d been wintrading with other players. He’s also known for being incredibly toxic. For example bullying support players into playing Mercy so he can keep playing Pharah. He’s a literal piece of garbage, hence his ban by Blizz for 6 months.
Why he hasn’t been perma banned yet is unreal because anyone else who’s a normal Joe would have been banned so dam fast.
Yeah it can sometimes cause me problems when I’m playing Rein when trying to block enemy shatters. I have to predict real well when it’s going to happen so i’m ready-literally have to be on top of my game
He should have been banned forever. Yes. Other Players got the lifetime ban, got canceled but that guy is still running around.
To the situation itself.
I wish I could swap regions on console lmao. European server is full of ksa people. And yes, there are actually so cool people. I’ve got an Arabic friend and he’s such a sweetheart.
But ranked is hell atm. We’ve met so many big stacks with ximmers, wintraders on our team and it’s almost 99% someone with an ksa flag. :')
And as I said, not all of them are like that. I guess it’s really the impact of those known players from the worldcup and stuff, who literally invented this behaviour. It’s really worse atm.
In one hand, KSA people are godlike, and another hand, they are worst people (toxic, racism etc…)
But KSA people is always a problem for differents reasons :
-XIM on console
-Toxicity
-Racism against french people (and probably another countries)
-And recently, their proud about OWWC and they don’t hesitate to insult us for this… (but it’s small minority)
And I don’t talk about politics issues.
But ban them for life, doesn’t resolve everything. The best issue for them :
-They have a Africa Server, or at least ME server, and they only play on them. The console is another issue because the whole world can play on same ping
-If they play outside the ME server, they have at least 300 ping
Wintrader always exist, from any countries (and the flag doesn’t mean they play from those country). The best thing you can do, is massive report them (5 times at least) and continue to play
Pretty much. The REALLY toxic ones used to invade streamers like Jay3 and LHCloudy and just troll but in the most toxic way, it wa pathetic. It was amusing though because after a while, Jay3’s mods grew used to it, so after the very first message sent by one of his meatriders they were instabanned lol.
But that’s the culture that trashbag has grown. He needs to be banned from the game permanently. And I’m so glad he never has, and never will, make into Overwatch Esports. He’s disgusting filth. I would say disgusting human being, but he’s not even that-a bigot like him belongs in the sewer.
