Kiriko Teleport Fail Bug

Description:
Issue encountered on PC (NA) in both Quickplay and Competitive mode on multiple maps.
Rarely, Kiriko’s teleport will “activate”, performing the animation, sound and visual effects as normal but fails to actually teleport Kiriko. The ability icon will flash but does not start the cooldown, as if the ability was never used.
The teammate remains in range the whole time, so it is not an issue of range limit breaking.
Oddly enough, when watching a highlight or replay, the bug is NOT visible through the in-game replay but can be seen if recorded via third party app (used GeForce Experience here).

Frequency:
Low, about 2/100. I’ve played 3 games with Kiriko exclusively tonight and it occurred 2 times.
Once on Gibraltar - Defense - Competitive mode - Tried to teleport to Roadhog
Once on Junkertown - Attack - Quickplay - Tried to teleport to Bastion
I’ve experience this issue on and off for the past week at least (similar issue with Mercy’s GA that would start and stop immediately)

Repro Steps:

  1. Start a game of Quickplay or Competitive
  2. Select Kiriko
  3. Keep an ally in range and in sight for Kiriko’s teleport to be available
  4. Move around to mimic active game play (side strafing or forward/backward)
  5. Press the teleport key (shift on PC by default) and notice the teleport may fail while playing the animation
  6. Repeat step 3-5 until issue is encountered

This has been happening since the beginning of Season 3, it’s so annoying and has gotten me killed numerous times. I don’t understand why this isn’t a priority to fix.

It’s an issue for me as well and I’m on ps4. :frowning:

Not sure why it’s not in the known issues list yet, there’s enough reports of it and it’s reproducable. Like, I get it takes time to fix, but if you already have a known issues list just put it on there so we can stop spamming the forums with it.

I had the same and more of these teleports happen and it’s so frustrating, this is one of the competitive games I just played which had 6 weird teleports.

the first, second and fifth teleports i could say the reason for them is having to look directly up to teleport and the teammates being on those specific platforms.

the third and fourth teleports almost in place and uses the cooldown.

the last teleport could be teleporting as soon as diva dives.

really hope this gets fixed soon

Happened to me today. Had a roadhog crouching on high ground waiting to ult down on enemy team. I was going to teleport and ult with him. 5 times I hit the button and nothing. I get caught in sig ult because of it and we L. The replay shows nothing but me staring at the hog.

I’m having this issue frequently right now. At least once per game when I play Kiriko the whole time, my teleport fails. I’m aware of the whole “when the tank is crouching” thing, but it happened to me today when I was trying to TP to my team’s Genji flying around. It’s frustrating and has gotten me killed more times than I can count.

Bump. Still an issue. Often.
Kiri feels like the most bugged support right now. Tele also misplaces you sometimes. It goes off but puts you 2m behind your previous position instead of the intended teammate.
Also is it just me or does Suzu often not hit when it’s supposed to? It seems to be really low on the favor the shooter priority list.

Healing Ofuda sometimes sticks to a teammate even after they leave the targeting range. You’ll miss healing on the intended target if that happens.

Healing Ofuda is definitely inconsistent, you get the blue untargeted effect even though it might lock on a target at the last second and shoot out a yellow targeted Ofuda projectile instead. In general for the accuracy it demands, it needs to be more consistent but more importantly - it needs much more responsive retargeting in my opinion.

Swift Step displacements are rampant for me, it hasn’t failed as much as it has put me in weird places.

Protection Suzu requires clean line of sight to teammates, small objects getting in it’s way will cause it to not protect your intended target, it requires incredibly clean throws to get it to work well, however I would argue that it is the most consistent ability of her kit, it is highly reliable given you throw it and on impact it has direct line of sight of a teammate, it’s really strong so I feel like this was intended.

Happened to me three times on top of the payload on Junkertown in a comp game and all of them could have been disastrous in the right circumstance.

It’s super irritating, there are several issues with Kiriko TP that are yet to be recognised and fixed.

  1. Can’t TP when tank is crouched
  2. Can’t TP when activating swift step on a ‘moving’ object/platform
  3. TP Y Coordinate messed up

My swift step ability gets consumed but TP doesn’t go through. : (
It always happens when you try to TP when you’re on a payload or on that firetruck in midtown first point.
