Nothing about Kiriko makes sense. She should only be a little younger than Genji yet has a line with Soldier where she refers to herself as a kid.

I always think the same thing. And then some will say “She’s not in her late teens or early 20’s, she’s in her early 30’s.”, but then she goes on in some voice-line about “never underestimate the youth,” to which I think, you’re not a “youth” anymore honey.

Kirikos entire story was an afterthought. They couldnt even come up with a way to describe her abilities other than “magic” even though magic has never been a thing in the overwatch universe.

i dont think the wiki still gives her exact age yet so the lore guys are like probably confused since they took the jobs of the guys who made the original lore lol
Her lore and character is so sloppy and inconsistent, its actually kind of bothersome how amateur it is. Not sure why they couldn’t figure out what age she was supposed to be before writing everything else about her backstory, seems like a pretty major detail. If I had to guess, they probably just completely forgot how old Genji was while writing her.

She’s youth relative to basically everyone else in Overwatch, with the exceptions of D.Va and Brigitte. Assuming she becomes part of Overwatch at some point.
The scene in her origin story was probably crafted as an artistic decision and not a literal timeline-oriented decision
Just like how Pharah’s elbows don’t exist. look at her default skin, it’s a mechanical hinge wheel instead of her arm. There’s lots of artistic-only design choices
