Kiriko being able to TP out of spawn is stupid

On that 3rd point on control and hybrid maps, she is able to instantly recontest point and suzu her teammate

Where that target should have died, they get saved by this nonsense

She needs a cooldown on her TP when she spawns in. Even a half cooldown will suffice

She shouldn’t be able to tp through walls at all but hey here we are.

It’s like ball, back when he could instantly grapple out of spawn.
They should consider giving kiri the same treatment.

At least it should go on a half-CD, so like 4 seconds, okay. That’s not too bad I think.

I think the difference there is that Ball’s mobility is fully independent, whereas Kiriko can’t teleport without someone to teleport to.

Speaking of which, did they ever fix the CTF bug where Kiriko can teleport while carrying the flag?

The more egregious part is the suzu abuse when stalling on defense. You can TP in, suzu, TP out, swap, swap, TP back in, suzu… at least some people were doing this anyway.

Ball’s situation is a little different because his ability to stall is much higher. Literal tank. Can maintain 100%+ mov spd unless CC apply. Adaptive shields allowing for almost doubling of health box. Lets not forget he can move 100% mov spd out of spawn without penalty either.

Meanwhile, 250hp squishy that just burned both its 15sec cooldownd AND 8sec to get to point and has literally no defense remaining. You can actually kill Kiriko in a reasonable amount of time if you have people there.

We have to remember the part where this support can’t get to point unless another player is already there too.

Kiriko requires a target.
Ball does not require a target.

Kiriko is a support with low HP.
Ball is a tank with a lot of HP.

Kiriko cannot give herself shields. Her invuln is brief.
Ball can give himself shields.

Kiriko is not very mobile aside from her teleport.
Ball can run away at low HP and return at max in .2 seconds.

They’re not the same.

That’s what I got out of that comment. Can anyone properly translate troll-language? Looks like a bunch of grunts and guffaw-ing to me.

I just had this happen in a game which is why I’m kinda salty about it. Anyway Kiriko’s team is on point stalling 3rd point Numbani, my Junker Queen hits a fat ult, think it hits like 3 close by players. Kiriko respawns and instantly teleports out of spawn to cleanse her tank

In any normal situation that’s a fight winning ultimate at a critical moment. Kiriko negates all that. This situation doesn’t happen every time and I’m not pretending like it does, but when it does happen it’s such a horrible mechanic like why is that garbage allowed !

Her play style would change drastically if she can’t TP tru walls but I am okay with that if they buff back suzu

So she TP-ed and used her second ability. Now she’s a sitting duck at the payload.

For me, I just accept stuff happens because that’s the sort of game overwatch is as a whole. If Kiriko is not in play, then you likely have to deal with some other nonsense in the game like an Ana sleeping you.

For this situation as you stated, I already know if you were any other tank that situation likely wouldn’t even matter. You could have see someone TP directly into a grav that lasts longer than suzu at all. Another ultimate might have just burst someone down before death (doomfist ult). Other players are blasted off point by whole hog which suzu can’t do anything about. Players are zoned away from objective via mines.

There are other tanks and ultimates where suzu does nothing against. For me, suzu stall is so damn niche of a situation compared to ball because Ball can stall longer for other players to get into the fight compared to anything Kiriko can do when TP and suzu are burned up.

No you’re also forgetting that she still has kunai and ofuda to use way before any other support would during a “stall”

A hero like Baptiste would have to walk out of spawn and by the time he’s made it out during a stall, his team is probably deprived of resources. Same goes for Ana, Brig, Illari, Lifeweaver, Lucio, Mercy, Moira, Zen

I think in general it’s just the tp-suzu combo. Sure she’s without her cooldowns but a lot of the time it’ll save her target. It feels extremely cheesy, a lot more so than a lot of other abilities in this game. I think it’s a lot more common than you’re giving it credit for. I feel like most control games theres a Kiriko swap at 3rd point to stall, and it’s actually enough at times. I’m guilty of abusing it too lol

Honestly just flag and move on :man_shrugging:

Fixed for you. Lets not forget the HS multiplier + Suzu.

Yeah, Kiriko is like the first support capable of actually supporting a dive team because she’s very hard to pin down herself and the dispersed nature of dive heroes gains her advantage.

With Sombra in play you heavily consider not playing Widowmaker or at least adjusting your style of play to actually stay closer to your team. With Kiriko in play, you might often adjust to not trying to hard commit to isolated fights knowing full well that capability now exists in the game or the team has access to it. You might lose that 1v1 because it turns into 1v2. That’s having foresight and forethought into your engagements of what can the enemy team accomplish and take risks with that in mind.

In general, I try to never taking isolated fights or overcommitting to an all or nothing kill. I want a 2v1 at all times. I want that better guarantee I’ll win and never try to come down to some resource contest with another player that I might risk losing. Though sometimes a 1v1 lasts long enough someone comes by to interrupt.

99/100, this will only delay the suzu’d targets death by a few seconds unless a LOT more resources are burnt on the suzu’d target from the other support too.

Wow.

I wasn’t even trying to troll you.

You are pretty negative about most everything in this game that isn’t Junkrat.

You wanting Kiriko TP nerfed with zero context as to why is something you do all the time.

I think most rational people who read my post would see that it was supposed to be light hearted.

My hope was that it might actually make you smile or even self-reflect a bit.

If I offended you that was not my intent.

But just a cursory review of your post history just oozes with negative things.

The fact you had a negative view of someone trying to call you out for all your negativity is so…you.

Perhaps best I just ignore you.

I wouldn’t ragepost about it if it didn’t negatively affect the course of my ranked game in such a mindbogglingly annoying way

But yeah it was a good play from the Kiriko, she tp’d out of spawn and suzu’d a Junker Queen ult. bravo to her, but I still dislike her
