King's Row is best because it's not "situational"

Some people think heroes should be limited to be “situational” to some maps and unplayable on others. These are the people who care more about the game in spawn, the card game and deck building in the hero select, rather than the game itself. King’s Row is 100% the best map because you can literally play anything on it.

Delete everything that’s situational, make everything make sense in a universe of superheroes, who definitely would be able to participate in any mission to save the world regardless of location or enemy comp. Can’t wait for class passives to fix that aspect of balance.

you know what that might actually be true, now that i think about it. you can make almost anything work, and also there are ways to counter everything. you can contest pharah from highground, you can sneak behind bunkers, etc.

You can play anything on any map, it just gets harder.

Kings Row has always been treated as a Rush map by the community, so people like it. It’s not even the most effective way to play the map, it’s just the community has this unspoken pact to only play Rush on Kings Row.

You what makes Kings Row miserable?

Sig+Orisa mirror comps. Hog+Ball (FR the best comp for the map). Any Sig comp.

As long as the community continues to force Rush on the map, it will remain “a classic” and enjoyed.

Personally I hate the map because it has way more potential than how it often gets treated.

It’s one of the few maps where junkrat shines. It’s also among the best maps to play.

Coincidence???

Same reason most games only have one mode for ranked. The one mode we should have had for years is payload. 90% of someone is talking about 2cp it’s because they hate it. Koth is just brawl but some characters are almost unplayable on some points and must picks on others.

yeah but when ANYTHING is playable I think that just means people play the stuff they normally play…which tends to just be “meta” heroes

i think maps forcing playstyles isnt a bad thing…it at least ensures that some things get played…

should it lean one way or the other? i dont know…but i dont think a map being a “sniper” map or w/e is a bad thing…i dont think the point of the game should be do the same thing over and over again no matter what

It is when the map is so imbalanced that it essentially becomes play x or lose almost every time. Much like Havana is mirror the Widow or lose.

everybody says this, but it’s not true. our personal tastes differ way more than the “imposed” differences that imbalanced maps or heroes bring about.

tbh, I think “flex players” in rolequeue are a myth. you choose your role, and then those who hate on “one-tricks” tend to actually one-trick the meta heroes for months on end and never switch until the meta switches.

i call it “seasonal one-tricking” and it’s why people with no spine or identity of their own literally played doubleshield for two years and tilted at any tank player who wanted to play something else, anything else.

thats cause a real flex player probably plays open queue…RQ you get all the “this is how i get priority passes right?” ‘flex’-queuers…
