So, on console, it’s pretty much people are mainly using mouse and keyboard, sadly most of these people are gm’s top 500s there’s probably more out there somewhere.
Now i have reported many but for some reason its not registered even though I put it as cheating because it’s unfair.
Now, what I want to know is why hasn’t this been stopped? Why is it that they just get away with it? Most of the people I know are keyboarders and have admitted to it, and other people have said they know a couple as well. Seriously why are these people allowed to get away with this? Most of these people make the game unfair especially for a support main watching most of these Widows / Tracers / Mccrees etc. that are getting free sr for something they shouldn’t be doing on console. I know Jeff has said not to use mouse and keyboard BUT there’s still a lot of players on console are STILL getting away with it. Changes needed to be made. There needs to be more serious punishment for people who use mouse and keyboard on console, whether it be bans for the rest of the season or a vac ban forever.
because it’s Blizzard does not have control over that. even the own console people sell the adapters
What can ya do? You have no proof, no matter how hard you want to bust them. You can’t report them because they might have good aim.
It’s a predicament.
They can ban it from there competitive game play.
i dont see how or why its even an issue to start with. yeah it may give the people smart enough to use it an edge becuse what can we all say controlers and PC ported games do not mix.
over watch is created by a PC company. porting to console made the game play slower and jankyer then the PC counter part where inputs are emedeit with no delays and can and are faster to input.
i feel players that may or may not be useing a mouse and keyboard on console have just adapted and relized that there able to get better results in there game play then an avrage controler user.
but at the same time. there is no way to prove that someone IS useing said methods even if they are stupid enough to say it outloud in the chat. and as far as COC goes and the aula and all that fun legal stuff .
there not realy cheating. theres nothing in the rule sets of the game saying that one can not use a mouse and keyboard on console. so in the end its a mute arugument that there cheating at all.
i hate to say it but if there are mouse and keyboard users on console. if you cant beat them you may as well join them. and play the game as they are. untill it becomes agens the rules to do it. you might as well.
i highly dought that bliz is even going to bother banning a player even if there was some way to prove they where useing theses methods anyway. and any report that comes in from anyone on the console saying that people are doing such things. is probaly going to be over looked and ignored becuse again. no proof,
shrug id just start tellingthe guys doing it they might as well move to PC and play over here with the real PC pros becuse all there doing over there on console is imatating
As long as you get a controller with your console and not mouse n keyboard it is cheating imo. 99% use their controller, you gain an unfair advantage. As far as i know blizzard thinks the same way but they dont do anything against it or cant.
it comes down to proveing that someone is doing it. theres no way in the game that i know of to mesure if someone is useing a mouse and keyboard on the consoles
so it comes down to proof and without any. there hands are tied. and it turns into a he said she said type thing. if you cant prove someone is doing it. then you cant punish them for doing it. and also as i said above. theres no hard rule agenst it. if you look over the terms and agreements and all that fun legal stuff that the games make you read and understand .it does not say anywhere that a console player has to use just a controler. it would be like telling a PC player they could only use mouse and keyboard (( most of us do becuse again controler inputs are slower then M&K inputs ))
Currently, we cannot do anything about players using input conversion devices to use Mouse and Keyboard on console.[…]
For now, please avoid reporting this behavior.
Blizzard doesn’t use “Valve Anti-Cheat”
Vac ban while it is a Valve thing is a pretty simple thing all it is, is an anti cheat that bans them from playing on their account. So all they have to do it either set up an anti cheat system that can ban keyboards which isn’t hard to detect especially with constant reports, or they can manually ban them from playing Overwatch on their account.
its sad when you have to quote your self to get the point across.
no proof = no way to ban them
there is not a way to prove that theses people that are being reported at all by ANYONE are doing this.
its he said she said.
that means someone is pointing a finger at someone and saying " well he did better then me in that match and was able to do things i normaly cant so he has to be useing a keyboard nad mouse. "
where is your proof !
how do you prove it !
you cant even with software. so again blizzards hands are tied. they cant do anything about it and wont.
You really can tell though that’s the thing, compare console movement and aim to pc movement and aim. Console aim is very tight compared to pc where it is very loose, pc players are a lot more twitchy as well.
with out hard proof. again i repeat.
its all he said she said.
and theres nothing anyone can do about it.
That is hard proof??? Compare pc aim to console aim, the proof is in the pudding.
Then explain this, you basically play the game from season 1-6 with 20 weapon accuracy and then randomly out of nowhere you go from 20 to 55 in season 7-9.
Their movement is different, also you can tell when you just look at kill cams and they pick up their mouse.
The controllers are much different than a mouse, when you pick up your mouse you see the stutter in the killcam. Controllers glide and is not as accurate as keyboard and mouse when you flick.
but you cant prove that that is what it is.
a person can turn up there controler sinsativity and create the same effect there is no real proof unless you have an image of the player siting at there console with a mouse and keyboard. you cant prove that there doing it at all. your assuming that that is what it is.
you assuming that there useing a mouse nad keyboard becuse there waht " twitchy " someone with high sinsativity on there controler is twitchy. try it sometime max it out i bet youll be twitchy too.
untill there is a way to prove 100% without people just pointing a finger and going " hes useing a mouse and keyboard becuse i say he is " you have no ground to stand on or any way to prove anyone is doing it.
so at this point in time. again i repeat my self. there is nothing anyone can do about it,
add to it also. that the software these people are useing. is based on the consoles settings. so in reality . there is a delay between the mouse and keyboard inputs just as there is with the controler. that stutter and twitchyness could be anything from input lag to simple connection lag.
see aboe in post again about proof
When a person ups their controller sens it just becomes fast and wonky its not twitchy, I play controller on high sens all the time and it’s very obvious that i’m using a controller as it’s a gliding straight motion compared to a twitchy more shaky motion. It’s really simple actually just most people can’t see the difference.
From the way Jeff talked about it long ago, they can’t. There is no way to prevent it or even 100% prove it. If you know of a way to then I would suggest head over to the Blizzard careers page and see if there is a job opening and apply for it.
The problem lies with aim assist…on console it doesn’t just disappear if you use MKB
You see on console you can’t mess with your settings to change input lag and also they have a thing called lag compensation which makes it to where it won’t appear twitchy as it compensates for their low connection.
Hi, Xbox & Playstation player here with over 1400 hours of OW under my belt. I’ve encountered less than a dozen M&KB user during the entire time i’ve played this game. So I can say that it isn’t an issue.
