So i use a keyboard to type in ow match chat, would that be considered using an unauthorized peripheral? I only play on controller so idk if typing in chat on keyboard would set off the ban. Please help me out i dont wanna get banned

No you won’t get banned, but one guy will occasionally call you a cheat because they didn’t know you could plug a keyboard into any Xbox game that supports chat instead of using controller where it takes them 5 minutes to type a sentence out.

Well, if up until now nothing had happened to you, then I’d say youre pretty safe. I dont know for sure though, so youre gonna have to risk it.
You 100% won’t get banned, just the odd guy that stands in a corner for ages to type on controller in ranked console play everyone else types on a keyboard, can tell by how quick it is.

Probably not. From what Blizzard has alluded to, they are detecting Ximmers by their play, not by what peripherals they have attached.
You’ll be fine, as XIM is only detechable through inputs and not chats.
The benefit would be to keep dummies from getting the last word when they think they’ve said something clever. I think if you type in chat at the end of a match, it should lock you in the end match screen for one minute so you can’t say anything stupid while you run out the door to avoid responses. It’s a petty idea, but toxic people are incredibly insecure and only understand their own language, so this would help me meet them where they are.

Fair enough. I leave voice when people are annoying and my dumb habit is joining voice again just as the game is ending. I don’t say anything, but I like letting people know I’m back.
