Kephrii about hackers

I was watching Kephri’s stream on Sunday when he came across of 3 different duos of hackers. Usually Mercy pocketing Widowmaker both on new accounts. Kephrii said, that for the last few days he came across more hackers then through his whole career. He also said, that hackers are creating/buing new accounts, getting to GM and selling those accounts for good money.
What do you think about that?

Yup. Insane amount of cheaters in the past two months(this past month especially). I absolutely hate double shield and the terrible meta existing. But this is a bigger deal. I’ve been running into 1-2 cheaters every time I wanna play. Maybe this is a spike that will eventually stop (Sometime around March to May in that region there was a two week period were I also met a ton of cheaters). This has been the worst time ever.

I watched moxy’s stream today and he lost two games to a blatant cheater. The cheater also got pocketed one of the matches by a mercy player though I believe they weren’t pre-made because the mercy wasn’t in the previous match. The game is quite literally is turning into counter strike with the amount of cheating that has been occurring lately.

Bronze-gold there’s some smurfing but cheaters seem rare (to me)
I want this meta gone

Not too many cheaters between bronze-gold (though there are very rare super bad cheaters that can’t climb even with cheats down there or a cheater is just memeing around at those ranks). This meta gone and improved anti-cheat measures is what I really want. It’d be cool to see if they could increase the height limit on some maps/areas. Or also get rid of invisible barriers such as on Eichenwalde which prevents you from going left on first as lucio. Hit reg improvements would be nice too, but not sure if that’s too feasible.

Watched Sleepy few days ago and he had three games in a row with cheaters. One of which had a body aimbot using Widow/McCree (it would always hit center of chest).

After each game he told chat to hang on as he reported them on the OWL Discord. Then noted after the third one that game reports won’t do anything anytime soon about it, but reporting it in the secret OWL discord would.

Thats because they want to make sure trolls and malicious people can’t ruin OWL players and certain big streamers games. They dont want another Tim the Tat Man situation.

I feel like cheating problem got much worse after they announced the new anti cheat measure a while ago lol.

Tim the tatman situation ?

Tim wasn’t a troll. He was just boosted AF.

Tim the Tat Man used to be a super big OW streamer, huge fanbase, but he left because of the CC creep, Brigitte being overpowered, and stream snipers. There was one guy in particular who went out of his way to ruin Tim’s games so much that Tim finally said that streaming Overwatch isnt fun anymore with all the different problems, and he left. He’s a huge Fortnite streamer now, like XQC big.

No i was referring to the stream snipers that were part of the reason Tim left OW.

Yes my friends, cheating is out of control even at lower rank like high plat and diamond and Master.

Then you will see some cheater guy come in and say “nobody is cheating I have only seen 1 that maybe was cheating in all of my entire life” but yes he is a liar and it is a shame.

As I have stated in my thread, I believe Blizz does not want to ban the cheater because they will lose more players, so they will let them play. I hope that I am finally wrong about something here, it is just a guess.

Shalom

Where are the obligatory comments of “there is almost no cheaters in ow” now?

i made a post pointing out that hiding the group helps people cheat more efficiently, since you can’t know what other accounts they might be boosting. And having a hidden profile is also a factor in making it easy to cheat. If someone has a hidden profile and i suspect them, i simply call them out and demand they open it.

Well to be fair… Overwatch has 40 million players right? Right Jeff?
So if only 10,000 people cheat, then there are very few cheaters in overwatch.

But those few people sure aren’t being very careful around the replay system:)
Blizz should make a clip and send option in the replay so we can directly report from there with video evidence.

Number of accounts does not represent number of players. Also, there’s been well beyond 10,000 people banned for cheating.

As for stream sniping, the streamers deserve it. They have all of the tools needed to make it nearly impossible. If they refuse to use them, that’s on them.

he was joking. And there has been that many people banned, please produce the proof of that.

This has always been a thing. The internet is filled with boosting services, carry services, in-game currency sales, various account sales… I’ve reported at least 100 different sites to Blizzard, and these sites are still there, still operating. If some moron wants to buy a jury-rigged GM account that might be in line for the ban hammer… guess it’s their money to waste? Still, this isn’t going away any time soon and people have been selling their accounts since the beginning of online games.

Blizzard’s method of combating this is throwing the game into fully automated support, with basically zero oversight.

Maybe Blizzard can’t ban cheaters because most of them are in China.

You can only shill for so long before you are forced to give up the position, or strawman your butt off.
