Keep Widow's Oneshot, Remove Grapple

I think if she were not allowed to maker her own angles for free, and that she was truly limited by map geometry like everyone else (except flyers) that she would be actually well balanced. Give her 200hp if you must, as well.

I prefer

Widowmaker

She would likely need other changes to be “balanced.” Albeit, those would perhaps require trade offs as well. If they gave her a longer charge period, but gave her the ability to actually deal damage to the body, that would probably work well at normalizing her power level across the ranks.

give it also to pharah

It would be funny if she were made to walk like Ana

reduce her Heelsound by a lot and buff smg and VM.
(Grapple should still be part of her kit but maybe use it as a positional tool, like reduce the velocity)

I kind of find it funny: Now grapple is a problem because widow can generate her own angles (I guess you mean jumpshots?) the other time grapple is a problem because its a free escape tool.
But both argument fail to see that it has 12 sec CD. Widow uses her grapple and is a sitting duck for the next 12 sec, while any other Mobility CD can be used far faster again.
And if you use it for a Jumpshot, you cannot grapple to safety. You use it as a escape, you can’t use it aggressively.

Yeah her footsteps are among the loudest in game, like she’s wearing tap-dancing shoes instead of ballet slippers.

As a widow hater, that would make her terrible. She would be such an easy kill for any hero with mobility to get close. Also she already has 200hp.

Yeah, its kinda stupid that a giant Tank can be more silent then a small Woman in a Jumpsuit, who is designed/trained to be a stealthy assassin.

Widow’s Sylvanas skin also has an extra loud banshee scream as a new weapon sound, making her one of the most audio-centric characters in game. Still, I use it for the sheer WoW factor.

do only you hear the sound or also others in the game? I have it too but if others also hear it i might stop using it.

Pharah already got reworked to remove most the frustration.

and right after the rework she became Meta in T500 and she (alone and with mercy) is still a headache for low/mid rank player.
She is arguably stronger then before. Yes, she can’t stay in the sky indefinitely, but its still a long time and now she is more mobility, making her harder to hit.
Her spam has been BUFFED: faster Fire Rate and faster and bigger Projectiles.

Do you think a quantitative tierlist position, and qualitative frustrating hero interactions are the same identical thing?

Granted, if they tierlist on how fun/fair a hero feels to play as/with/against.

Then they would be synced.

you did not answer any other things i listed and just latched onto one thing that you can twist and direct it into a direction that is absolutely irrelevant, while ignoring the important parts, that her Spam is even stronger and because of those buffs and the higher mobility she does not even Need a Mercy to be devastating for new players.

How about I make it easier for you.

Generally, I don’t care about Tierlisting as a goal, except to the point it conflicts with a majority of the popular high ELO influencers having a favorable impression of the game.

I also do really do firmly believe tierlisting on how fun/fair a hero feels to play as/with/against.

So honestly, I keep talking about “How do we make Widow less frustrating”.

And you keep replying with “WHAT?! How dare you imply that Widow could possibly ever not deserve the tierlist position she has, with a only reason for that being, merely because she has that tierlist position, and changing it is evil because reasons and things and loud noises.”

Like for real dude. Put down the Strawman.

Not everything in game design needs to be about tierlisting.

I’m guessing only we hear the sound customizations. Ana’s new mythic does not show the sword-impale-on-kill to anyone other than Ana, so no one else enjoys the new visuals / audio. The same likely applies to all local customizations other than skin visuals.

Of course, if Blizz were smart, they would have everyone see the enhanced effects as free advertising to hawk their wares.

good to know
On the Medusa Skin, others can apparently hear the snakes hissing, even if its very quiet.

Instantly dies to all manner of flanking

And remove one of the few ways to tell where a Widow shot is coming from before she takes it? Hell no.

Losing Grapple is not worth that tradeoff.
