Was originally gonna post this as an ironic bug report. Seriously, why is flashpoint on the quickplay rotation? You can specifically select it as a game mode already. I don’t wanna do stupid flashpoint, it’s so incredibly stressful, leave it out of the rotation. Sure you can argue that it isn’t different enough, it’s just like push or payload being different, but it just isn’t. I don’t get an ulcer from push, even if I don’t like it all that much. Heck, I don’t even dislike flashpoint, I think it’s fun, IF I get the option of when to play it!!! Blizzard please, just, why put it in standard quickplay?
Note: Colorful language excluded due to blizzard whining. Please insert where you see fit.
Because it is a core game mode, just like hybrid, koth, payload, and push. You can’t choose to avoid any of those when you queue up for modes that use core game modes, like qp and comp.
You can’t tho? Unless you mean in arcade once every 6 days. Where it’s also open queue.

I recently started trying to do quickplay again after almost exclusively playing Total Mayhem for 99% of OW2’s lifetime. I might not be able to pick and choose what maps to avoid, but I can still leave. Now I have a -75% experience debuff for 15 matches that never goes down because I leave every time flashpoint or push come up.
Which is fine, leave before the game starts all you like. But my point was people cannot choose to avoid modes or maps when they queue up for qp, cannot avoid them before going into the queue. And flashpoint is a base game mode, so it’s part of qp and comp.
It would be wonderful if we could. The big red bar across my screen warning me not to leave is annoying and, while the battlepass is worthless and they never put anything on it I want, I would like to get rid of the -75% debuff at some point.
I had no realised it was on rotation in the arcade, my bad. As for the other part, that’s sorta what I’m getting at, it SHOULDN’T be a core game mode due to the different playstyle being promoted. In ALL other core game modes you can run into a variety of different comps, put in flashpoint it feels like ninety percent is dive.
You still can. But I can see why they dont want people leaving so much. Especially if you do it every push or flashpoint, that should be roughly 40% of your matches.
It’s a rare instance of me wishing they took a page out of TF2s book and allowed you to choose what you que for. The world would be a better place.
Imo flashpoint plays similar to koth, just no rounds between. The only time the walk is much further than other modes, is after capping a point, if it spawned across the map. But from the new spawn it’s pretty reasonable compared with other modes. Especially koth.
It’s significantly more than 40% and there have been sessions where I log in, get flashpoint or push four or five matches in a row, leave every one of them, and then log out because I’d rather not play a game that is going to force me to do game modes I don’t enjoy and don’t want to play.

Rng is rng, but each mode should have a 20% chance of being selected. Assuming a fresh game. Maybe over 40% if it’s a backfill if people are more likely to leave push or flashpoint.
The majority of my matches in situations like that have been backfills and when I get brought in the objective isn’t even active yet. People see that it is a flashpoint map or a push map and immediately drop from the group.
