Just Trash Your Aged Account

The account I’ve had since launch of OW1, with ALL my skins, including the Pink Mercy skin I bought… sucks.

The account gets nothing but impossible games against smurfs with noob teammates. It’s unplayable. I can switch accounts, play in the same rank, and it’s much easier.

THE ACCOUNT GETS HARD MODE.

Stop trying to control everything, Blizz. Just make the same matches for everyone based on RANK.

I wasted. Literally wasted 6 years playing this game, trying to collect skins during events, only to have Blizz say “screw this account”

Blizzard has absolutely no respect for players. All they care about is selling, or re-selling skins.

I hope Microsoft cleans house and fixes this game once and for all.

I have the same issue. I play on an alt account I get to Diamond like nothing I play on my main account I cannot get outta low plat high gold. The matches are impossible to win, I get the most brain dead teammates but go against the most try hard smerfs almost every game.

This is 100% true… my main has 3k hours and i call it the “Coach” account because it expects me to carry noobs. Other acct has good ppl that carry me.

They know you want to get everything on that account so it’s given harder manipulation because they know you’ll give them the play time they want. OW uses psychology in their matchmaking to keep players coming back for more. If it was too linear one way or the other you wouldn’t play it for long, so it manipulates you on the way down and up to give the game more play time.

My main account gets hit registration penalties, damage reduction, acceleration glitches, mouse stuck issues (both wireless and wired), and the stomp/be stomped matches. The game has hardcore rigging now to optimize the amount of play time you’ll be on. Playtime equals money. I now play to clear out the battlepass and for events. I’ve stopped playing competitive on that account, because it’s quicker to get xp via multiple QP games an hour vs a few comp games an hour. I have my new accounts where better comp games live.

New fresh accounts get Plat-diamond easily. But old and more stable accounts with more games are harder to climb with if you actually belong to your rank which you do.

If you play enough game on your alt, you’ll slowly go back to where you belong. If you actually maintain, then MM is actually doomed because if you truly believe you get diamond like nothing, you shouldn’t be low Plat or gold in any account whatsoever.

Tldr: get good.

Again you said get good, but why does the mmr create a game that feels as if you need to play 2x the lobby to win. In overwatch 1 you had smurfs but the variance was still much lower than in overwatch 2.

Also you cant say that the added 3.4% increase in effectiveness due to having 1less player accounts for some games where your entire team is being rolled and again you are expected to play like you are in gm hitscan terminator in plat games.

Same…
Main account: 1350 hours > Bronze 4
New account: 45 hours > Diamond

I feel like a lot of ignorance in the world could be cured if people could actually swap shoes with certain people or groups that are oppressed, then they would see both sides and realize the truth and find out that thingS really are different for them.

OW/gaming offers that unique perspective to have two accounts in the same tier both experiencing vastly different types of matches, the people who have done this 100% solo queue typically have seen the “truth” about how broken the matchmaker is.

Two accounts, same tier, one feels like it’s 1000-2000 SR above the other one. BROKEN

They do. My accounts, no matter age, get the same, fairly even, slightly boring matches.

I play solo on multiple accounts. I have literally never experienced what you claim in 5+ years of playing.

Just want to chime in and say the same. I have 3 accounts, my oldest one is literally against stacks, boosters, cheaters and impossible to win games practically 80% of the time. I can’t get it out of Diamond 1 (was M1 for a bit then that got rekt).

My old alt account, which is actually now my main, is casually cruising in GM2 and my other is GM1. Same role, same characters, over 300 games this season already, no issues.

Been reading shadowbanning is a thing or basically matchmaking is 100% account based and favours new accounts, or high MMR quickplay accounts.

It isn’t.

Your account probably just have different MMR (as results are most impactful to it)

I think the term “shadowbanning” is terrible, but what I am noticing is that one account’s MMR is forcing me to have way worse teammates or opponents. I am seeing people with 20 hours in the game, playing tank for the first time, charge the enemy spawn as rein and disconnect. Random junk like that, with my 2000+ hour account.

But my 800 hour account, I get that maybe once every 20 games, way fewer cheaters etc.

Im going to just chug like 3 monsters and play widow soldier to see if I can hard boost my main up to where my alts are in the next week. If I can’t then I will have to just abandon my main, because the games are just so bad compared to the fun in all the other accounts which are higher ranked.

You don’t 100% solo queue. You solo queue some and then play with friends, that’s different. Do what I said and you’ll see exactly what everyone is talking about.

So I thought the same and finally let my grandmaster friend smurf on my other very low ranking bronze account, it was bottom 500 on tank and damage in season 34-35 on OW1 and stayed bronze/silver during transitioning to OW2.

He got it to plat in less than a week, and he’s steadily climbing to GM with it. Smurfing can’t be fixed in determining balanced games, but it proves that climbing is still possible, we just suck.

Variants of shadow banning happen on other things. But it’s never been a thing in ow.

You’re just getting people playing like fools, but they have the same MMR as you.

I haven’t stacked this season, other than a handful of open queue games.

99% of my play time is solo q because I’ll just smash a few games out when I’m bored.

I have a very fresh account. Within an hour I was getting the ranked players as my others and the games were pretty close

If you really want to experience what people are describing do this

  1. Play 100% solo queue and never cheat in any way
  2. Play on an account where you’re at your peak
  3. Grind, try to make it past that peak tier. Do whatever it takes, practice aim, get coaching, study youtube videos of people who use your hero and play it well
  4. Do this until you realize it’s almost impossible to rank up no matter how much you improve. You will reach a new tier threshold and go on a MASSIVE loss streak where your teammates are awful, any time you get close to breaking through you can see that your teammates are doing things that nobody at your tier should be doing. Again, you can get a little past your tier threshold but it will immediately send you back down to do it all over again, it won’t let you get much further.

We all play the same game so if you do those steps you WILL see what people are talking about, no question about it.

If I do all this. Where will the goal posts be?

If you keep improving youll be better than everyone at some point.

You get stuck, because you aren’t improving anymore. Every has their limit.
