So I just got a warning about “abusive chat.”
I am not in any way a toxic player or person. I don’t insult people or cause issues. I will just randomly say stuff in all chat sometimes like “rat lords!” And silly stuff like that.
Recently I’ve been jokingly saying stuff like “Is this Marvel Rivals?”
Seriously this is too much for people? If you can’t say literally anything at all besides “Gee willickers great game all! I had so much fun, thanks for being a positive impact on my life!” Without being reported, just remove chat and we can only use built in quick messages.
Effectively it already doesn’t exist considering saying anything that isn’t toxic positivity will get you reported apparently.
On that note, I do hope Rivals doesn’t pander to these salty report troll babies and maybe we can be actual humans?

Advice: just turn it off.
More info: Yes, you get punished for being a silly lil guy now cause the normies don’t like it.
Even more: Sometimes what you say could be taken as sarcasm or rude even if that’s not at all your intention. Personally, I frankly don’t want to hear anything about Rivals in OW cause I’d play that game if I wanted to.

I mean that is totally fair. I certainly don’t think it’s abusive report worthy chat though.
I think if you create a new account, and only post “haha” after every match, you’ll still get a permanent ban.
I fully agree with you, but you don’t get to control what people report you for. As someone who isn’t at all toxic but a bit vocal and has been actioned multiple times for nothing (but swearing or cursing Blizzard) I highly suggest you just turn chat off if you can.
I believe that. It’s a shame what the community has turned in to. I’ve never had these kind of issues in the past just being myself.
I personally enjoy when people throw out a little light banter in competitive games, not near the level of toxicity but yeah. Not a fan of the forced kumbaya everyone join hands persona you have to apparently take on now.
Isn’t chat off by default now for new players?
Comms are only needed if you plan on coordinating with the rest of your team, making callouts / warnings (DVA has ult, Sombra in the backline, etc.), or socializing in a friendly manner (made many online friends this way). Otherwise you are better off disabling comms, especially when venting for any reason.
At endorsement level zero, yes.
