Just Reduce Healing

I’m a support main, and I’m over the DPS passive getting continuously buffed as it just makes playing every hero in the category worse. Also, plenty of supports have already gotten healing buffs to make up for the DPS passive existing which defeats the point of it in the first place. Is it just like a vicious cycle where they increase it, some supports get healing buffs, and then they increase it more in response?

At this point it just seems to me like if a support can’t be viable due to 30% of their healing being chopped off, they should be individually balanced instead of being suffocated with the same blanket changes as everyone else.

I get the DPS passive allows DPS heroes to also counter forms of healing outside of the support roster like Take a Breather, Queen’s bleed, Soldier’s healing pad, etc., but tanks already get a 50% reduction to the DPS passive so they’re getting like 2.5% less healing which is basically irrelevant.

I would rather scrap the current DPS passive, have all supports get a flat 15-25% healing reduction, see where the chips fall, and then make balance changes throughout the season. I don’t even think some support heroes would necessarily need to have their healing returned in exchange for more utility, health, or mobility.

To do this, it would require adjusting each support’s kit appropriately. This is apparently too much work for the existing dev team (short staff or too much work right now).

So it’s time for support to stop healing and go back to pure dps. Reddit Lucio in the house!

The DPS passive being strong also makes fights with no dps left alive silly.

Tank + supports vs tank + supports = no one dying.

Their separate team is busy working on Stadium so the primary team cannot do anything at the moment…

DPS complained enough about being the cosmetic 2nd rank class. Now they’re mandatory.

That’s kind of the point. I don’t see how we’re supposed to get a new support in season 18 when the supports we already have are “churning out” too much healing apparently. If it’s such a problem that it necessitates a 30% reduction that doesn’t even help every DPS evenly, maybe healing itself should just be reduced.

I agree that healing overall should come down, but it should be made more contextual. Supports shouldn’t be heal bots, they should be using their damage and utility to set up plays, and their healing should feel stronger when used in the right context

For example, make it so that Kiriko reloads one ofuda at a time, but buff their healing. The numbers should work out that her overall healing per second is down, but she’d have a powerful tool to save people in danger, and she’d have to use her kunai during the downtime

Kiriko has insanely high healing which most people don’t even know
Yeah, we need a proper restructuring of healing and how we heal.

DPS role is still lacking, and 30% won’t fix the util advantage and supports having the same damage numbers to output (if not playing KFC duo: Mecy+LW). DPS role needs more damage and more bullets, and fire rate increase for some, then take that 30% passive away. GIVE THE ROLE ACTUAL FREAKING DAMAGE NUMBERS!

At the moment the game has turned into who can burst/combo the fastest. It’s a lot more cod-ifying than OW1
