There is no counter to it, even if they Play bad goats, there healing is insane and Rhein constantly swining at you makes it very hard todo anything then just loose, and if your Team isn’t Picking goats you lost, that shouldn’t be the case at all, there should be counters to it.

Agree with Trump. Bastion pretty good if your team can shield and heal you.
Regardless new patch coming soon so we can wait out the goats a little longer

You seem to be referencing a specific example. Out of mild curiosity, who else was on your team? If they’re running goats than they must’ve been reasonably coordinated… It’s been quite a while since I played comp, but rare was the game where people didn’t immediately pick 4 dps…

I’ve never won a game because my team GOATs, likewise my teams have never felt the need to mirror it.
Goats sucks without proper ability management and positioning. Golds don’t have that. I assume plat isn’t any different, but I’m not far enough in to know.

We had Shield and heal ana and moira and DVa Rhein.
It’s hard to run in Diamond too. Unless you get the perfect combo of mains (and of course you never do), communication is still important. Nano Genji wrecks goats on a regular basis on my level.
people are bad in gold. they’re not that bad. Specially against a team of golds with a gold bastion player.
I tried. There’s no coordination and the tanks don’t put up enough damage. Rein can’t modulate between swinging and shielding properly, Zarya had bad bubble and no energy, Moira was always in bad position, Lucio wasted amp, Dva bombed to remech because why not, Brig pack was used almost randomly.
My GF just hit gold. She lost around 10 matches this season. Out of the 10 she lost, 7 were steamrolls. None of those teams ran more than one dps (either Hanzo or Genji). Always 3 tanks (usually rein, zarya and d.va) and 2-3 supports ( lucio, moira and either zen or mercy) the enemy team was terrible, my GF was getting her picks but there’s no use when you get steamrolled so hard because some people still think that a reaper can counter a deathball comp likke that.
Is it traditional goats? No. But it’ still a triple tank/support comp showing that even in lower ranks it doesn’t matter if you miss out on pure dps and make mistakes, it’s all about survivability. And this could get worse with Baptiste.
The funny thing is that goats is actually a very skilful and intricate composition to run at the highest level. The issue is, however, that the composition is so ridiculously overpowered that the margin for error is WAYYY bigger than it should be. That is why goats is actually playable in all ranks - because the margin for error, given its power, is far too big right now.
You only need high skill maneuver against mirror goats to outplay them. The other comps you can just run over them. I hardly see a team have problem running goats. All you have to do is follow the Rein, use your basic abilities, the synergy is so well oiled that it just works out naturally. Your main target is always their tank line, who has to meet you head on anyway.
Dive comp, on the other hand, is hard to pull off, especially with random players. Everyone dives from different angle, so it requires tracer, genji, Winston and Dva to be in position for the dive, that in turn will leave your Zen exposed.
From my own experience, initial dive will be pulled off successfully, an then thing starts to fall apart, genji go yolo, tracer go solo, Winston and Dva dive in 2 different targets. It is really hard to keep the initial synergy.
good luck trying to convince 5 golds to go healer and tanks. they will just look at you blankly and pick 5 dps
Playing against goats in gold and plat is so easy. Grab a mei and Pharah and Ana and its easy clap.

In theory you should win at any rank with it.
But if you are a better player than you should be able to crush goats playing any hero.
So I could play Solider76 in diamond and go ham at a low plats playing goats. Until you get to GM levels. Where you have to mirror it no matter how good you are.
So basically, like any comp in gold / plat. It’s not an overpowered comp. You just aren’t good enough to beat it.
No. My 2-3 stack has 100% win rate against GOATS in plat. Just go freaking Bastion for freaks sake. Plats don’t have the coordination to play GOATS properly, moreover against Bastion bunker comps.
