Had a game where a guy was boasting he was a smurf and he would carry us and all. (he did nothing all game) and we kept asking him whats your main whats his name and all. whenever we asked he would stop talking. Why do people do this they say they are smurfs but wont prove it.

i played once with a guy who claimed he was GM (in plat)… we lost and he insulted us all.

do you really think a GM couldnt carry games on plat elo? our team was not even trolling or soft throwing… we tryyharded… he was obviously a liar… a gm would easy carry games on plat.

Yeah i see it all the time. people claim they are smurfs but yet can’t ever prove it or they do nothing in the game.

Ugh, I hate that.

I actually had the opposite a few games ago, and even though he was on the opposite team (in a six-stack he’s been training with for two seasons) it was an overall good experience. After the game, I tried to stalk his career profile, since he wouldn’t admit to smurfing, and I accidentally sent a friend request. Anyway, we ended up talking and he gave lots of advice on how to grow as a team and do better as a six-stack in comp. We lost that game, but it felt super constructive and positive. If we’re gonna have smurfs, we need to have more well-meaning ones. Not fakes who think they’ll get DPS if they say they’re smurfs.

So they can play DPS.

If I say I am a GM Smurf no one else is going to say get off widow/hanzo. More likely they will fill, and we will get a decent team comp.

No one can carry 1v6. If the other 5 of you were being outplayed no matter how hard you tried, you would have lost.
I had a guy on the forums who was Masters argue with me over the “validity of SR and how people are where they belong” I said there was “far too much dependent on team” for SR to mean anything.

I added him as friend in game and invited him to a qp game with a group I was in. Granted the group was below my tier, at least one or 2 people. But as a test I thought, “hey let me not try as hard and watch Mr Carry prove me wrong”. Sure enough we lost. XD
