Taking a break from my Switch adventures RN because Monday is my favorite comp day. Just went to Dorado and got a co-support on my team with the “Epic Naturalist” title, a LW icon, and a high-tier LW name card. So I figured I ought to be courteous and let them have him. Just in case they weren’t confident playing anyone else
*Ahem*
I kind of really regretted that decision. He was so heavy. So, so, so very heavy. We still won somehow but there was so much panicked pinging and nowhere near enough thorns. And the enemy had everything. Torb. Monke bubble. Long range people. And it allllllll went unpressured by him. And I suppose a couple of his pulls could have been better too
Perhaps I shouldn’t be “courteous” in that particular way again
Obligatory Edit: I feel like I’m maybe sounding a little harsh here, so I’ll clarify. It’s just the lack of thorns that I was taking issue with. I should at least give a little credit here, because I was really grateful about not being ignored and left to die. The vast majority of the time, my “thanks” when being pulled was totally genuine. (The other couple of times, it wasn’t sarcastic either; just a habit and me trying to be polite.) It was just so painful seeing a Torb turret or a barrier or Widow or whatever and wishing I could bust out the thorns myself and help take care of it. It would have been so much easier
And by the way, I actually tried to encourage them to use their thorns in the only way I can with no chats: directing the “press the attack” voiceline at them. I “press the attack”'d our Weaver a few times whenever we had a spare moment. But as usual in these scenarios, they didn’t seem to understand what I was getting at
If players like this would just make use of their thorns, I’m confident that they would have a much easier time of things
