There’s no reason for me to play this game anymore.
Skins? You can’t unlock them through gameplay, you must buy them instead.
Drops? You can’t unlock them through gameplay, you must watch Twitch instead.
New heroes? You must buy the Battle Pass to unlock them instantly or waste hours grinding.
New maps? There are fewer maps in the game than in 2016.
Quick Play? You get nothing for winning other than Battle Pass XP, requiring you to buy the Battle Pass.
Competitive? Rank is meaningless and I don’t want to grind hours for a 7th golden weapon.
PvE? It’s not in the game and likely never will be.
Fun? The matchmaker is broken and will never be fixed, the hero balance is also broken.
Friends? None of my friends play this game anymore because of everything listed above.
I give up. There is no longer a single reason to play this game because Blizzard has taken everything good out of it and stuck it behind a paywall in the Shop.
This. Blizzard is insane. Players aren’t going to put up with such nonsense, especially if the game isn’t fun. I wouldn’t even qualify OW2 as a sequel. It’s a blatant rush job meant to milk saps of their money. Over six years later and they still couldn’t bother to design balanced heroes.

I’m still hanging out on the forum until I get bored of this too, I like chatting with other players who are quitting or considering quitting. I’ve had the fanboys tell me that I should be banned from the forum for posting here while not being an active Overwatch player. They just don’t want to acknowledge how quickly this game is hemorrhaging players.

In game currency? You earn next to none for playing the game, and the only way to gain a usable amount is by cracking open your wallet.
All other F2P games allow you to earn a decent and usable amount of currency because you’re paying for it with your time/engagement. There is no way I’m going to get even remotely tempted to complete all dailies and weeklies for 8 months to be able to buy one skin.
Regardless of whether you have $100 or $10M to your name, buying skins is foolish.
Actually I’ve noticed poor people are way more likely to buy skins because they think it’s a flex. Wealthy people realize a $20 cosmetic is meaningless from a status perspective because anybody could afford it, and wealthy people tend to be more financially competent in general.
Good for you OP. World of gaming would be different if people actually took action and quit games instead of just complaining and then paying/buying the next shiny thing and keep feeding the “machine”.

Map pools and the removal of Assault game mode make less maps to play on, relative to the number that exist. In 2016 we played on 100% of the available maps. Now it’s more like 65%.
so you see no issues with the fact you are forced to put on a stream in the backround instead of playing the game? no problem with putting heros behind over 30+ hours of a terrible balanced game with less maps playable at a time for a team which most likely isnt the same ranks because of the players leaving meaning more ranks introduced to qs for shorter times
