Seriously stadium is awful. It was awful during the playtest and no one cared. Just give us the good mode that you even said 15% of the players were playing weeks into it being out.
No reason to make a more complicated and far worse version of it. And don’t pretend like that’s not what this is. Junkenstein was a smoke test and it was great. Stadium was the full Monty and it was awful and when playtesters complained and told you no and that it wasn’t good you all said “too bad it’s decided” we all basically gave up.
Now here you are trying to push it through anyway. It’s flat out bad! Stop!
The worst part is the incredible amount of wasted potential with all the good parts it has.
I didn’t like Junkenstein’s Laboratory. I’m not expecting to like Stadium because it is basically the same mode but just more polished.
I’m curious what about it made you dislike it specifically since from my perspective it’s basically just the less random version of Junkenstein’s Lab.
Not true.
Next.
Is Stadium just Blizzards version of Deadlock? I haven’t played either, but they seem to have similar structure where you buy perks, etc.
Not really. The game still fundamentally plays like OW. You still have team fights contesting a single objective. Theres no creeps or laning or anything like that.
IMO, yes. Like it’s different in that there’s not lanes, mobs, and towers like Deadlock but a lot of the rest is similar. You earn “cash” during the round. You power up between rounds.
It’s still going to have team fights and such, but it leans a lot more heavily into the Deadlock type fantasy with complex builds, no hero swapping, long games, etc.
It surprisingly feels less polished.
Way more power ups and they are on an economy system instead of an unlock between rounds system. And the rounds are too short to matter but the amount of rounds is too long to have a quick game. It’s literally terrible.
The mode makes Genji even more awesome than he already was. That’s good enough for me. I want to cut people.
I hope you enjoy it! Nothing wrong with that at all.
