Just get rid of Scatter already! Bring on Storm Arrow already Blizzard!

Oh wait what is this? We’ve moved onto calling for Storm Arrow nerfs?

I must’ve fell off the forum bandwagon unknowingly.

My apologies.

I personally never wanted Volley, I felt it was a cop-out of giving him an actual interesting ability, but I can’t support the people asking for nerfs.

People complained about Scatter because they didn’t want/know how to play around it, so now that it’s replaced with a new ability they won’t play around, they’re back to complaining.

People don’t understand that you have to respect a sniper and their sightlines, that’s why they’re so hated.

yeah. difficulty increased.

Same. I wanted him to retain the ability to ricochet his arrows somehow. That seems like such a unique aspect of his character.

But I mean, we already knew people would be crying over Storm Arrow.

Remember right before the rework went live? People were celebrating en mass about “lol scattuh ded lolol” “now Hanzo will take ACTUAL skill!”

All the while we already got to play Hanzo 2.0 on the PTR.

Well, what ya gonna do eh?

Oh yay, sarcasm, that’ll help

Let’s be real. They made a new ability, but overshot it. Now that people realize that, it might need nerfing. Is that the answer you wanted?

then it would have behooved them to play on the PTR and voice their concerns instead of just making circle jerk threads on here /shrug

You do realize that you often have no choice but to enter a sniper’s sightlines? How exactly am I supposed to avoid Hanzo’s sightlines when he has a height advantage and can see everything around him, including the objective?

By your logic, anyone who tries to do anything except cower in spawn or hide behind a shield is a noob.

I donno.

The rework was on paper for a couple of months, and Hanzo 2.0 was playable on PTR for what 1 month?

Nobody was crying about it.

Guess they’re too focused on crying about scatter.

Mind you, I’m not actually arguing about the fine points of balancing. Maybe Scatter was OP, maybe it wasn’t. Maybe Storm Arrow is OP, maybe it isn’t. I haven’t played comp since Season 1, so I don’t care.

Just find it sadly amusing and amusingly sad the predictability of the forum tide of tears.

These threads are pretty much useless on the forums for the time being.

We need a couple more weeks of data gathering and feedback to really let this meta sink in a see what’s what. I’m not running to defend new Hanzo as the finished product, like a few Hanzo mains seem to be doing, and I’m also not saying storm needs any changes yet. The headshot crits do seem to be concerning some people so we have to keep an eye on it and track his numbers as we move forward.

Too much illogical opinions flying around these forums hours after new heroes are released. A little patience my dear chums.

Oh okay. Then you’re right haha. These forums are a hotbed for unconstructive, unproductive feedback

Removing storm cirtical is big nerf to high skilled and small nerf for low-skilled.
If strom cirt removed good skilled player choose headshot not storm.

That is an interesting point.

But the numbers were already seen as soon as the ability was unveiled.

Remember a common exchange on these same forums back then?

Scattuh Whiner: “OMFG Scatter sucks, remove already, bring on Storm Arrow nowa!!!11!!”
Regular Folk: “Um, you do realize that SA has the potential to outdamage scatter if the Hanzo can land headshots, right?”
Scattuh Whiner: “Well, at least then it’ll take skill.”

Now:

SA Whinner: “That’s just too much damage!!! busts out calculator See? If Hanzo lands all headshots, it’s going to be 5000 trillion mega damages!!! WTF???”
Regular Folks: “Um… we knew that. Since day one of SA unveil. Didn’t you say that’d be fine because it takes skill on Hanzo’s part?”

“REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE”

i’ve already seen people ask for scatter back because “at least i didn’t consistently die to it”

laffo

i think people will grow to hate storms more than scatter because hanzo is actually worth playing now, but it’s what they asked for, so i’m just gonna watch it all happen

Oh ho ho you won’t believe how many people I’ve seen saying it takes no skill already, like jeez you knew exactly how it would work before it was even given to us the only exception being we didn’t know if it could headshots or not, we knew its duration and its damage yet now that we actually have it all of a sudden it doesn’t take skill because you don’t like fighting good hanzos

no offense but it was kind of hard to play around an ability that was even one shooting tanks if placed at their feet

I’ve seen this a couple of times too actually. Not a straight “revert Hanzo” but something like what you said “at least I’m not getting killed by Scatter all the time.”

But that was the reason the devs even made Hanzo 2.0: consistency.

All the people who complained about Scatter’s lack of skill or randomness are revealed for who they truly are:

They were really complaining about getting killed.

Scatter was removed for one shotting full health tanks, if you can’t see that and prefer to call us “scatter whiners” then you simply don’t understand balance or Overwatch

Like I said, we can do this back and forth stuff, but it’s pretty pointless at this stage. I need a few more weeks myself to reach any solid conclusion on storm, as the only real experience I have with Hanzo is me playing against him as Zarya (6 hours) and Tracer (1 hour) in comp. So enjoy telling us all he’s fine and so on, I’ll reserve judgement for a rational and logical opinion once I have a few more weeks playtime with and against him.

I can’t be the ONLY person not having issues with hanzo’s storm arrows, right? At least if I die to them I know he had to aim them.

I do, I see killcam of Hanzo and it’s literally him spazzing around with his mouse and randomly landing one body and 1 head while missing 4 arrows out of 6 and still getting a kill

It’s only because it can shred tanks quicker than Scatter Arrow ever could.
