The reason I left this game a couple months ago was because I was tired of the 6v6 ult fest, everyone group, team fight then teamfight then teamfight. In my opinion the objectives/maps have always been the issue with the game. The team needs to be forced to split up and coordinate while separated. By forcing an objective that is in two locations or in two/three “lanes” of a map (think moba) teams will get out of this boring group up and die play style. This splitting up will also fix meta issues since a divided team will not be able to compound strengths so much.
This is such an easy fix, just try it once in arcade and I promise it would go well.
jeff:这个想法很酷,不过你已经说出来了,我们不能采用
that would need a redesign of all the maps and would also discourage team play.
there should at least be some more points for individual play to shine though
You’d be better off doing a new game mode (which admittedly, is sorely needed) with it’s own maps instead of redesigning the entire game.
One big problem (for Blizzard) - esports watchability. Need to avoid splitting the action so audiences can follow it easily.
I wouldn’t want them to redesign all the maps. For starters just make one new map and try it in arcade mode. I’m so confident that it would do well that the next map releases would take this idea to competitive.
Yes exactly. This is what I meant. I think it would make for a much better competitive experience.
I think that is a fair point but honestly I think it would get all the more interesting. 12 ults happening on top of one another with 12 heroes is too hard to watch now, but mini 3v3s on two sides of a map seems much easier to track and would sti have plenty of team play, possibly more so when surprise ganks becomes a thing.
Isn’t that what CTF is?
Play CTF, there is often an element of this with part of a team defending while part attacks, merging and separating at the crucial moments.
Thing is that mode is such a mess that I really would not want to see that kind of idea implemented elsewhere, let alone expanded upon.
Ew definitely not capture the flag. Teams running back and forth across the whole maps is just a bigger cluster of players running around aimlessly. Like the least teamwork there is.
Yeah that is what would happen in the sort of game mode your proposing. I used to think it would be cool, like making a king of the hills map where its basically control but with 3 smaller points all active at once. What would happen though is just 2 teams of 6 running back and forth between them, if you split up the enemy will group and and crush your team piece by piece, its literal divide and conquer.
What if the teams had to be on the point at all times. Would it just be a 5 and 1 split. I do recognize that the meta of the game mode could be terrible but I also think that an objective could be made that fixes that. I don’t have the answer but it’s out there.
I’ve suggested multiple objectives several times on here (ala Arathi Basin in Wow) several times…but I don’t see this being any more than another arcade mode for the game…hardly game changing/saving (however you look at it)
One of my favorite maps in shooters has always been territories, with 2-3 objectives in different locations to take control of.
KOTH is nice, I’m kind of sick of 2CP and payload maps.
Yeah I think everyone is.
