If this mode was meant to be more fun because of less stomps, then it’s a failure. I’ve had 2 close games so far after playing last night and this morning. This morning I’m on game 6 and every game has been a stomp.
Some tank combos are just beyond broken. Sigma is in almost every single game. Team ults, like kiri and juno, are totally busted with the extra team member outputting damage. rein doesn’t seem to have reverted his damage and has a 1-shot combo (charge + 1 swing) against some tanks (notably sigma), some new maps just don’t work with 6 players, and so on.
And there seems to be a lot more leavers in 6v6 than 5v5, which I guess means people are not enjoying the frequent stomps.

It’s way worse because now you have to work with another tank player that probably sucks just to do your job and you have to hope that your supports have good healing priority. It’s just yikes. Too much skill required for your average OnlyWatcher.

I’ve had zero games today that didn’t have Sigma. And on the other side, zero games have had ball, monkey, queen, doom or orisa. I think I had 1 game against doom and 1 against queen last night. But that’s it.
Tank balance is a complete mess.

for me i keep hitting the io ceiling.
their engine/netcode just can’t keep up. it got re-optimized for ow2 5v5 and later re-optimized for crossplay assist so there is no going back to smooth butter 6v6. only the fasts will notice and the slows will defend it.
especially these crossplay lobbies. if you spam wasd + melee + spray for a few seconds, the network performance overlay will bog out, and then you just can’t move for 1/2 a sec while it waits to digest your old io stream and is ready to keep processing your io.
it’s the most anti-gamer clunk i’ve ever felt from this team.
Because when you lose a mini boss, they have two of them and will melt the remaining one of your.
6v6 have no any balance at all and the yolo random patch note did not help anything.
TBH Hazard could be a unique player in these stomps. Getting Rein Charged? Make a wall… Enemies wanna pop twin ults to Murder-Death everything? Make a wall! Someone you don’t like…? We just ignore them, and then make a wall!
Give Wall-Zard a go i reckon and keep him very defensive and dive when enemies actually get close. I don’t know how it will go for you but see what happens.

Rough example of how i’d use him anyways,
Play Defensive and let them come to you.
Make Walls to block nasty things.
Spike Shield when they go Through the Wall because they will likely not stop holding down the trigger to get through.
And use your Ult as a Pre-Mature response. Like when an enemy team groups up just to hinder them from having an effective Ult and keep your wall spare as well for When they Ult just to add some annoyance to them.
I dont see many sigma’s, but over half of my 6v6 games have at least one zarya, and I’m already getting tired of baiting zarya bubble and then immediately her co tank peel/shield her while getting bubbled.
We could see how the match quality will be when 6v6 competitive comes out. (better MM and harsh leavers penalty)
Also, I feel that the frequency of stomping games is somewhat related to high sustain and S9 patch. S9 patch had a reason in 5v5 but not in 6v6 imo. It should be reverted in 6v6.
It’s almost like Blizzard had a clear reason for removing 6v6 in the first place or something.
Which they explained was, among other things, due to how oppressive tank combos could be.
Crazy that.

That’s not been my experience at all, I had a very noticeable reduction in stomps, winning or losing, even losing matches has felt satisfying. No idea what bizarro world you live in, but it diverges wildly from my experience.

Out of context, it could also be a colonialist rant about the Indian Ocean territory, but I’m pretty sure that statement was meant to be blunt.
