If my tanks refuse to go in and we lose because of that, does that make me a bad player?
Why would it make you a bad player because your teammates refused cooperation which might’ve given you a better chance/advantage of wining?
Depends. If flankers are killing your supports and tanks, then yeah, it’s usually best to take out the flankers before rushing ahead suicidally.
nope no flankers. It was a soldier and a junkrat. Both were spamming the shield and so was the rest of their team. We had a rein and a sigma, and both just stood at the choke of the point and let their shields die.
If your tanks refuse to go in it must mean that they have some serious trust issues in your team, most likely because you have DPS heroes that can’t capitalize on space quickly enough like Torb or because your heals are just weak (Baptiste, Ana missing shots, off-healer dying to a Tracer again and again). Then again there are some platinum tanks that don’t know where to position even though it’s almost always 10 steps ahead of your team
Yes. It not only makes you a bad player, but also a bad person.
Have you tried variously, getting a pick? Causing a distraction? Creating an opening yourself, such as with Immortality Field or other strong aoe or ultimate ability? Applied lots of pressure to press the enemy team back?
A Tank probably isn’t going to push against a full enemy team that’s flattening their barrier or barriers faster than they can charge them. That would be called suicide.
It’s amazing how many DPS complain about Tanks who don’t push when they’re just stood there doing basically nothing themselves.
Then you either lost because you had bad tanks, or possibly because they knew that nobody would push in with them.
If you’re plat or lower, it’s probably the former. Low-rank tanks tend to be scared of pushing unless the DPS have killed 1-2 players first.
I tried getting a pick, but I died because I didnt get support from my tanks because they were sitting in the choke, hence why I created this thread, asking if I was bad, if my tanks weren’t moving
If the enemy tanks refuse to go in and we win because of that, does that make me a good player?
It’s not that they just stood there, with 2 spammers it’s impossible to go anywhere.
Anyways they should’ve changed to dive tanks and dps should’ve gone for mei and sombra go stop enemy team, and lucio moira as healers.
If someone else makes a mistake, no that doesn’t make you a bad player. Doesn’t matter the role. If my healers are DPSing instead of healing does that make me a bad player? No.
But, the question is why are your tanks not pushing. Are they not pushing because it would be suicide to push in that moment or because they are being overly cautious. Tanks have to take some risks, but they also have to avoid feeding.
They were overly cautious, there was nothing in front of them, and if they had pushed in we would have taken the point
So if there was no one in front of them and no flankers and you weren’t getting picks… where were all the enemies?
on the other side of the point
Did you ask them to co-operate via voice? That is a very basic thing if you want to increase your chances.
Like Ilios well? Either bad tanks or too much pressure on them to push forward. Orisa will almost alsways hold her position at the side of the point or just inside it anyway.
nepal with the large circle point and it is up higher. The one wehre ball just spins in circles for hours
But you got killed trying to push yourself. Were they really being overly cautious? They’re certainly not going to push after you got yourself killed and put them in a 5v6.
Have you tried playing a DPS that can CC ball.
This annoys me no end from DPS players. “Oh, woe is me, I can’t stop Hammond, whatever should I do?”
Play Sombra or Mei or Junk for 2 minutes is what you do. Hammond just spinning around like that is easily avoidable, easily stopped and contributing realistically very little. Unless his opponents are simpletons. It is not generally considered good play.
Not a bad player.
But if your Tanks are bad, might I suggest playing Mei:
