Maybe blizz thinks a hitscan with full aerial mobility would be too strong for a support to have
She already annihilates pharah.
Juno has three mobility abilities and you’re complaining? Wild.
Imagine having downsides for an ability.
It’s just a weird ability. I literally can’t think of a single purpose for it, other than to go a little bit faster I guess. I’d hardly call it flying.
It’s to take different angles
Juno is VERY good. You just have to know how to use her. If you’re wanting to abuse falloff on her you should play an easier flying hero.
She can’t fly. She can boost forward. But to make it more fun they allowed her to boost forward from whatever height she starts from without falling. See it as short reinhardt charge but instead of falling down the height she maintains it until the boost ends.
She’s not a flying hero. The ability icon even shows this. It is mainly there to traverse horizontally and lock on to more targets with your rockets
It’s a weird-feeling ability. It kinda feels like noclip flying in a single-player FPS except for the awkward inability to go lower.
It’d feel better if she could descend by crouching, but still have her current restrictions when it comes to gaining height. She wouldn’t be able to do crazy manoeuvers or get access to high ground she wouldn’t normally be able to reach, but she could fall to go through doorways instead of banging her head against the top of the doorway (or whatever occasional oddness crops up).
Here’s a small tip disabled toggle to boost you can have a lot more control that way. (It works like dvas hold to boost setting) You can then be less predictable, it feels less awkward to use and it makes it easier to extend your distance using a jump at the end of your dash you can then use dash on the ground then double jump to get some decent height, even moreso if you combine it with the ring, she doesn’t have to touch it to get the effect.

also echos flight is really clunky, i certainly wouldnt want that on every flying hero.
Except there are tons of ways you ascend/descend using roofs/ceilings or sloped spots. She has way too much horizontal mobility to also have echo style vertical mobility.

they could atleast alow it to double jump when she use that ability but no, you can only double jump once and you cant repeat it again
This is honestly the change I want. 8 → 6sec. Refresh double jump usage. Cut movement speed or duration of the boost. This will literally fix all of the issues with the move because you can then mix-up the flight and not suffer as debilitating of a cooldown for using it early.
It lets you do things like jump jump → boost fall, then jump again to be able to maneuver across various terrain. Possibly even lets you do a triple jump if you cancel and jump early enough. Sacrifice speed and distance for a bit of maneuverability.
I think its great design
We already have too many characters that have vertical mobility, and most of them with specific requirements
But none of the supports can fly on their own in a path off the map
Why does she have a helmet though, when she is in breathable atmosphere?
If you recall horizon lunar colony people could breath outside of the air lock.
The real problem is her lack of vertical mobility to get away, since her horizontal is so slow compared to some other heroes.
But that doesn’t mean we need to buff ability astronomical levels. It can just be as simple as trading double jump for wall climb.
