I never play comp but I wanna commit now. I’ve always played the game pretty competitively despite playing QP. With Juno out now I’ve been playing comp. I only have 17 games played (only started late last night) but with a 76% winrate and while I’m positive it’ll even out. My current games are complete stomps. My last game just a few minutes ago, we got a team kill with 30 seconds left to defend and then my entire team except me ulted to BM after the enemies died. I’m only gold 5 at the moment but am maybe 5% from gold 4.
So my question, is my winrate high simply because Juno? Are players less aware on how Juno works which leads to a higher winrate? Is Juno really strong right now (despite feeling pretty balanced) maybe a combination of both? I’m mainly confused why my winrate is so high.
I suppose there is a chance I’m simply “good” at the game and am climbing however I still feel like there is some other force at work. I don’t use comms btw, I’ve done it in the past which has made games so much better in terms of winning but I haven’t wanted to commentate the entire game. lol
No other forces. Just you’re better than low gold. As you said, you’ll hit a wall soon enough and it’ll level out (unless you keep improving)
oh okay huge. I wasn’t sure and hate to say I’m better then others even if stats/winrate may say otherwise, I dunno why that’s just me I guess. Prob comes with the don’t blame others blame yourself type thing when you lose a game lol.

No harm in thinking you’re better than those around you. That’s usually a sign of being a competitive person.
As long as you use that to keep improving so that you can keep proving you’re better. Rather that the standard forum technique of crying about how magic systems are controlling things around you when they aren’t.

comp is a COMPLETELY different beast than QP. Peoples entire mindset is different so if all you do is QP you will be unlearning habits and learning new ones. OBviously itss still the same game but like at least for me in a QP game I don’t mind having drinks, going afk or leaving, I’ll even troll on purpose for lols some times. I literally never do that in comp, I’m serious from the moment the spawn doors open till the moment game end screen comes up.
I’m not saying everyone takes it that serious but for example lets say its the last 30s on a QP game thats about to end… How often and how many of the losing players will just afk or leave the last 30 sec of a match? or even leave the first 60s of a game or start throwing when they lose the first fight? I’ll bet around 20% of players do that…
In comp that stuff still happens but its more like 2% and for sure people will desperatly make swaps to stall a point to over time which isnt even a strategy in quick play. In quick play there is no round 2 so over time doesnt matter. In comp even if you have to feed a dozen deaths its absolutely worth it to stall a point into over time on something like escort.
My advice is just play as you normally do for QP but take it seriously the whole time and make sure you know the differences in rules and over time rounds for comp modes because in some modes it literally makes all the difference. I’ve easily stolen wins from teams who probably would have won if they understood the OT rules properly or WHY you would make certain other plays.0
TLDR my advice has nothing to do with juno lol

Probably, you can’t fix your teammates unless you stack. But YOU can be the difference in each game.
I can blame my teammates, but if I can find one thing to blame on myself that should have pretty much all my focus. That teammate won’t be on my team again if I fix that mistake.
