Junkrat’s playsyle is straight up busted

I mean who in their right mind likes to go into an objective where the junkrat is running away from you to catch someone else on your team and then you are so unfortunate enough to get caught in a stupid stray grenade you didn’t even see and you die because of it?

Then you look at the killcam and you see the Junkrat shooting the grenade that killed you into the wall, he walks away for a good 2 seconds, and then he is lucky enough to see the killfeed which says that grenade killed someone…

He’s sadly built off being the hero that doesn’t need to look at someone’s to deal damage… and does 120 dps so thanks blizzard

Bad hero design is essentially the issue here.

There is no going back.

Have you ever considered that previous to Sombra, having Tracer run into Junkrat grenades is the closest thing we had to an actual Tracer counter?

Tracer shouldn’t be able to run around without a care in the world.

You accidentally walked into a grenade? Well, that’s on you.

I heard a good theory about why he is as strong as he is from Emongg.
And it is simply that the Dev team won’t admit it is the reason, but they likely want a hero you can play to a decent standard on a low frame per second computer.

Being that Overwatch entices a lot of casuals who may only game around the 30FPS mark.
It would admittedly be a touchy subject for them to discuss which is why they may be ignoring the subject.

I’m not specifically refering to Tracer.

I’m talking about all the squishies.

Okay sure. But same point stands.

If you walk into a stray grenade. The best way to fix that is to pay better attention and stop running into stray grenades.

If you mess up, you deserve to take damage.

With his rate of fire, you’re constantly having to predict how and where the grenades are going to bounce off, among all the other things you have to worry about on the battlefield. I’ve had grenades bounce off 2-3 surfaces to hit me where I thought it was safe.

Only thing I hate about JR is his ult charge. I don’t have a problem with the rest of his kit. But not all deaths are due to the player’s fault (even if a majority are.) He has the highest chance for “fluke” kills, and it never feels good.

Junkrat has a relatively high damage needed for his Ult, and a slow passive charge rate.

If he’s doing crap tons of damage to your team, that’s your team’s fault for being so exposed.

Especially those D.va’s. Just 2 D.va kills (Mech and Pilot) are almost enough to fill up a Junkrat Ultimate. (Or any ultimate for that matter)

There is no practical way I am going to inspect the ground during a team fight when a Junkrat is spamming on an objective.

“Junkrat has no skill because his primary fire bounces reeeeeeee”

Is basically the content of every “nerf Junkrat” thread I see.

It my playstyle.
Bounce nades off walls, around corners and get snips of damage until someone dies, either by me or assistance. Not the Junkrat fault players who play genji or tracer stay in the open or small rooms with limited movement area.

Players just dont like to stand be hind tanks who can block these things, or tanks dont do their jobs.

I never said I go in small rooms with Junkrat. I’m not talking about that. Of course you never challenge a Junkrat in small rooms because you’ll just get melted. That’s why I never do that.

Second, I’m arguing for stray grenades on objectives. Like I told one guy earlier, there is no way I’m going to inspect the ground for Junkrat grenades when i already am dealing with a huge team fight with ultimates going back and forth and other stuff. That’s ridiculous. The broken aspect of the play style is that target priority is such a minimal thing with the character that they just shoot grenades bouncing them off walls hoping someone will walk into it and that’s just busted.

So you weren’t paying attention and got killed by a stray bomb?

Sounds very much like a YOU problem, rather than a “Junkrat is broken” problem

If Junkrat were only effective against Tracer, he wouldn’t be an issue. Except he isn’t.

While I’ve suffered my share of “oh… there was a junk grenade there” deaths, they do glow. And beep/tick.

Yet, oddly enough, nobody seems to complain about the many characters who spray bullets and such that go on in a straight line if they miss, and kill someone at random.

“Hey, I’m upset that those slow-moving Junkrat bombs killed me, but I’m not particularly mad at that barrage of DVa rockets that pulped me when she missed the guy she was actually aiming at. And who cares if Zenyatta just one-shotted me when he completely shot at random through his own teammate?”

You do know part of his getting out card is to shoot around him, wall/ground, so that if anything is chasing him he has a chance of getting away, right?

I mean, just recall if he’s being too much of a problem for you. Last I checked, Tracer can counter Junk pretty good.

If he hit you for 120 damage, he was looking at you. Or you were not paying attention and took a nade to the face. Otherwise, it’s splash damage as low as 12.5 and you should be paying better attention. Don’t blame Blizz for your lack of game sense.

Watch OWL…they do it all the time without having any problems. I mean, if they can watch 2 points, zip around, and watch the ground too. What’s your excuse?

Eh, his bombs are small and hard to notice with the amount of flashing lights during team fights. Spamming shouldn’t allow 120 DPS, imo. I really don’t think such a low-skill hero should have such a massive impact. You can aimlessly spam and still carry the team in terms of damage

Low skilled? He has a low skill floor, but a much higher ceiling. Or are all characters beneath Genji?

Again, people not paying attention is not his fault. That is them. Use the tanks. Use the shields. That is WHY they exist in the game in the first place. TO PROTECT YOU!

Again, 120 STRAIGHT DAMAGE. 12.5 damage in it’s radius. One of the slowest projectiles in the game next to Sym’s orbs. Yah, I get caught by the occasional one too, but if you are missing a red glowing ball, that ticks, that makes noises when it bounces, AND has a trail as much as you are implying… I advise making an eye doctor appointment sometime in the near future.
