The projectile size being shrunk was a pretty hard nerf to any kind of long range accuracy as Junkrat. This leads him to doing more dmg, but being able to convert less of those to kill as your less likely to land two consecutive shots in a row. The hit box is small, the projectile arc is pretty extreme and the bounces can be fairly random based on the invisible hit boxes of objects that doesn’t always match the visuals.
Oh and the mines are just garbage now at anything but point blank, add that to his lack of accuracy and Junkrat is almost a Melee character now against anything but a big easy to hit Rein shield.
Edit: Btw I like the idea of the mines doing full dmg if on the ground. It’s an adjustment that wouldn’t be TOO Op, without giving you the ability to lob them across the map and kill people. It would have to land at least.
I wouldn’t mind mending some of weaknesses and giving him a reworked ult that has more counter-play.
The focus for Junkrat has always been his spam. His spam has always been very good. However he has tons of weaknesses to compensate for it. In return he gets an ult without any weaknesses.
I feel like he’s just an extremely badly designed character and needs a rework, definitely not a buff.
Uh are you sure you play Junkrat and not Hanzo? No weakness in his ult? It’s been nerfed to be slower, the hang time in the air was reduced. It only has 100hp (low enough a lot of attacks can one shot it) and a fairly large hit box.
Oh and Junkrat himself is completely immobile while using it. Not only leading to a good chance he will die while using it, but he’s doing no DMG during that time. So while Hanzo can pop a dragon and follow it up with a barrage of storm arrows or Dva can even Pew Pew with her gun. Junk is standing there doing nothing for how ever long you run around with your tire.
Well, they only did that as they won’t touch the Rez on an E. I have an idea on how to make single Rez an ultimate, increase her players skill ceiling etc. but that is a post for another thread and then to be sent to the mega void.
Oof I think thats called a nerf, who even detonates a mine once it’s set.
But junkrat just isn’t in the best spot because he charges Zarya and currently well, there’s a lot of her. The buff won’t help fix anything, you will still need to swap or be okay with being flamed for charging zarya.
And no, we aren’t going to buff heroes for people who don’t wanna switch, that’d go poorly.
Zaryas not even much of a problem for people who actually know how to play him.
You clearly don’t play rat because if you did you’d know the problem he has is
His primary is even less consistent than the inconsistent mess it used to be
Widow and hanzo are currently dominating at the majority of the ranks. Hanzo because he’s just broken, widow since the meta favord her
Blizzard doesn’t reverse changes, the only way to buff the hero is to move forward and not backwards - and frankly I don’t understand how a slower moving projectile is more random than a faster moving projectile considering increase projectile speed means the grenades carry more momentum and bounce further.
Except what can a non junkrat do about a Zarya who is overcharged all of the time, it just increases the rate at which gravonstrike combos come out.
A junkrat might not have problems with her, but a team will have A LOT OF PROBLEMS with her.
Therefore case and point, Junkrat is suffering because of a meta. He’s still heaps good. Such as the time just before hanzo and brig made overwatch enter a new state, even with his concussion mine nerf (the falloff) he was still a good healthy pick who always had the opportunity to destroy pushes given he was played right.
