Yes, I am prepared for junkrat mains (quite a lot on these forums) coming with their pitchforks at me and their typical in-denial cheese replies about skill issues. However, this still doesn’t change the fact that the character is overpowered, horrible to play against and a low skill-high reward pick and 9 out of 10 games have a spamrat on one team while 7 or even 8 games are infested by spamrat mirrors. Why bother learning high skill heroes who require precise aim when Junkrat exists?
- His 1 shot not even doesn’t require any skill but after the random projectile size increase buff he can mindlessly lob nades and get rewarded even better now that all current in rotation maps favour him with tight chockes.
- The mines have way too much range and can cc you to the moon making you an easy target for his team and other enemy dps while also dealing heavy damage
- his ultimate is a fool proof giant aoe 600 dps wallclimbing fast speed object that guarantees 2 kills most fights if not more.
Playing supports is a miserable experience against this crap and supports have it rough in this game as it is imo. Ironic since it used to be the most busted role in OW1.
Kiriko needs 5 body shots to kill spamrat or 2 precise headshots which is insane and she can be farmed 2 times before she can pull that off and that costs her team a lot of heal wasted.
Ana usually can do a little bit better at range but she is completely helpless and free food during his stupid ult
Mercy can not do her job and resurect because spamrat can delete her 5 times before her 2 seconds frozen state ends during the res. Why should she be punished like that when other dps need precise skill to stop a res?
Brig I dont think I need to say anything here lol… if they have spamrat you might as well never play her because she gets destroyed in the only range she was designed to fight in.
My proposal would be to give him self damage back and tune down the damage and CC from the mines (when applied on the enemy, Junkrat still keeps his mobility from 2 mines) or remove 1 of those. As for his ult make it so killing the junkrat automatically destroys the tire

Dont have the issue against Junk tbh. I mainly play Ashe though and hes easy to headshot.

It still doesnt change the fact that playing support against that crap is a miserable experience. How are we supposed to counter this bs when our kit have low offensive power to shut him down?

All about positioning. Junk has low effective range. If youre mid to long range away, its very unlikely that you get hit. You can just side step his grenades.

Did you read the other thread about this skull issue?

Lucio main here. Go next.

Haven’t you heard? Junkrat takes 4D chess levels of skill. Every one of his shots needs the intense mathematical precision of a professional trick shot pool player mentally calculating the exact angle, trajectory, and velocity of each shot. Clearly he’s the most skill and aim based character in the entire game and not just a brain dead, spray and pray, tricycle explicitly designed for total imbeciles to pretend they’re any good at a fps despite not being able to purposefully land a single shot even if their life depended on it.

isnt this ironic though? even mentally disabled monkeys can get value out of junkrat kit which requires no positioning skills thanks to the new maps and his mines. what are you supposed to do if the junkrat destroys your team? he can outdamage your heal and instantly kill you if he decides to flank. So you are at the mercy of your other dps to shut him down fast before he farms you and your tank. His damage numbers are way too high, his CC way too high, the ult is uncounterable etc. something’s got to give.

Junk gets destroyed by any half decent hitscan. At least thats my experience on Ashe. As for Supports i cant make suggestions from experience, but i imagine Ana should be a decent pick. She can play from long range outside of his range and even three tap him if you play offensive.

This is the lie spamrat mains wants us to believe…

Your name + this post = possible skill issue on your part. Maybe play torb or sym so the turrets can get kills for you??

If they revert the grenade size back to OW1 levels he would likely be just in the right place.
Currently it seems way to forgiving when he only needs to land one of them with an easy mine follow up combo.
They should also consider reducing ult charge gain, tire is far more valuable now without shields, hes not the only one who needs there ults charge rate re-adjusted though due to DPS/Healing uptime and lack of Shields to provide on demand protection.
well goodman was a junkrat main too so I get why he allowed this champ to stay OP. With him gone from the game balance hopefully some adjustments and tuning down will come in regards to junkrat.
If you’re on support, and your team are being abused by Junk Baptiste is probably the pick. High damage, mid-range hitscan is his weakness and Bap has that covered. You have vertical mobility to hop to high-ground where Junk will struggle to damage you. You have enough damage to shoot the tire down if necessary, and his immortality field can either deny it kills, or force it to try and wait you out so you get more time to shoot it.
If it comes down to the wire, and you have to challenge him at close range you can use immortality field for that too. Block his one-shot and give you time to shoot him down. Not ideal, but workable.
If Junk is giving you problems with indirect fire in a tight point, like last point Eichenwald, and you can’t get a shot on him without taking a bad position things get dicier. Either push when he is reloading on offense, but on defence Moira orbs may work to zone him out of whatever little rat-hole he is spamming from.

Don’t know who that is, and don’t really care TBH. It’s just funny that there are a very vocal minority that screams about Rat when other heroes are more of a balance issue.
Remember back in Season 1 when bear trap got a small nerf, yet Sojourn was left untouched? Plenty of jokes to be had there.

In my experience supports have multiple options assuming they dont try to chase him into tight corners.
Headshots with Kiriko are pretty easy on him due to his speed and hitbox. Same with Bap.
Ana can kill him from a distance. Mercy’ s pistol does well if you can headshot, but its better for her to avoid combat by flying away if she can. His mines can kill her quickly.
Brig is terrible against him, always has been. Zenyatta is a mixed bag. He can kill Junk, but Junk is generally quicker.
I dont play Lucio often so cant really give an opinion on that

Yeah not a fan of recommending Kiriko as her kunais are kind of slow and she needs to play closer to get more accurate shots, which makes Junkrate more effective against her. Unless you bait the mines with suzu and kill him then.
I havent had any issues killing Junk as her. His headbox is pretty generous, and she has nice range. You dont have to be in his face.
If you have bad aim shes also great for simply escaping due to teleport

It warms my heart to see the forums, of all places, defending Junkrat.
Says it all really.
There are like 7 Junk mains in total on here…
