Junkrat is BALANCED

Yeah, so, can we please NOT nerf him into the shadow realm ? Especially when the only people who whine about him are the baddies with tunnel vision and zero situational awareness ?

For some reason, EVERY part of his kit has been complained about:

  • First it was his mines. He was given two to make him more consistent. Then they got their radius nerfed, meaning they’re more inconsistent.

  • Now his grenades are being reduced in size, completely removing any consistency he had on the arc-ing projectiles that are highly inaccurate to begin with, not to mention how easy they are to see if you’re paying attention.

  • Additionally, now his Rip-Tire’s speed is being lowered after being buffed because it was originally a terrible ultimate that couldn’t reach its’ intended target. So again, nerfing his consistency.

  • Now people apparently haven’t had their fill of complaining about Junkrat, so now these whiners want his steel trap to be nerfed as well ! Are you kidding me !?

These Junkrat nerfs are way out of hand… All because people outright refuse to LOOK AROUND AT THEIR SURROUNDINGS, and blindly walk into his very obvious, glowing red grenades. It’s like you people want him to be so badly designed that he instantly self-destructs the minute he walks out of spawn.

You people are freaking ridiculous. LEARN TO PLAY, AND STOP BLAMING JUNKRAT FOR YOUR OWN INEPTITUDE !

His entire hero design is the problem IMO.

The OW population isn’t going to ever agree on one side because of it. He could be trash stats-wise, and people will still think he’s OP because of the spammy burst damage he does.

I really don’t see how people think he is like on the edge of being useless. He is one of the best DPS right now.

But that’s his intended design. How do people not understand that ? He’s an area denial character. He lays down damage in an area that you and your team should avoid as best you can. That’s what he’s meant to do.

He’s supposed to do exactly the thing people are complaining about, and it makes no sense to me that they can’t understand the design philosophy behind him.

These arguments are silly and really don’t mean much. You can argue it for any character, Junkrat does quite a bit and being toned down hasn’t made him useless and it probably isn’t going to make him useless.

Yeah, because the PTR nerfs haven’t gone to live yet. Once his nades get nerfed, his DPS is going to diminish quite alot, because he won’t be able to hit anyone now.

That’s why I’m arguing against the nerfs. Honestly, a simple Ult charge rate nerf would suffice.

He is not balanced.

Dont need.good aiming skills, also you dont need good position skills (2 movement mines).

You are good on close and mid range…

The ult is so good.

Is not fun play against.

How are they silly ? If you dodge his grenades, he’ll do a whopping ZERO damage to you. It’s really not that hard to understand. It will hurt him alot if these nerfs go through. I’ve tested it on the PTR and boy is it BAD.

I think Junkrat’s hero selection icon should run windows uninstall command to uninstall overwatch and that should make junkrat balanced.

Maybe because they looked at the numbers and realized Junkrat isn’t getting that many kills with Riptire relative to other Ults.

Furthermore, that the only way he’s getting 1575 damage on the enemy team “quickly” is when you have D.va’s and Roadhog’s walking straight into the grenades with their faces, while having a Mercy/Moira heal them.

He surely isn’t getting that kind of damage off of 200HP heroes.

He is balanced. The stats support this.

Actually, you kinda do. Maybe not as much as sniper characters, but acting like he requires no aim whatsoever is just ridiculous. He does need to aim. Firing blindly is highly inefficient, unless the enemy team is dumb enough to not walk into his mines.

Mid range yes, close range only if you can land direct hits.

Eh, it’s middle of the road at best. If you pay attention, it’s easily destroyed, and honestly it rarely gets more than 3 kills. The stats also support this.

Fun is subjective, so this isn’t a valid argument.

It’s so nice when a junkrat jumps directly on top of me and 2 shots me in the face. Imo, he needs to take damage from his own grenades again, then I would never complain.

If you dodge a bullet you don’t die, we should revert all DPS nerfs.

It really doesn’t work like that. If they are looking to tone something down, yes they want him to do less damage. They aren’t going to nerf something just to raise the skill cap of a character.

I’m not saying these nerfs are needed or not, but the argument of “just dodge it and he’s not a problem” simply doesn’t work. They’re nerfing the bombs because they do find them a problem. Instead of stating the character is fine you should provide feedback towards where they should be looking to hit the character or explain why these changes aren’t proper.

Also, if you’re hearing “Fire in the hole” 50 times in a single match, then I assume your team is either standing still or extremely inept.
