hello friends, me and my buddies have been having a tough time going up against junkrats as we cant seem to kill him enough to shut him out. if i could get some ideas for countering him that would be great thanks.

Dive is good. Even if you can’t dive him, you have the mobility to bypass most of the chokes that he likes to spam.

Almost every hitscan, Echo, Pharah, Zarya, Dva are most reliable. Genji can give Junk a hard time if they’re good and so can tracer.

Also as Dva, if you set your mind to it you can murder junkrats, eat his passive bombs and danc eon his corpse
Mid-Long range hitscans like Soldier, McCree, Widow or Ashe.
Sigma.
Tracer.
Sombra.
but thats just what i find easy
That one depends on elo you are in.
Good tracer? Maybe, but lower tracers just teleport in to the traps (tested out)

If you’re having trouble againts Junk. It’s not your hero that’s the problem. It’s your positioning and awareness.
Try going a different route or a different plan of attack. Not changing the hero and still walking right into where he wants you.

If you struggle against junk, you are probably in Bronze or Silver, so aim intensive heroes are out of question.
Hog can work pretty well, Reaper can pressure him (if you know how to engage Junk), Pharah, Moira is also a good option,

Dva and Zarya are the best tanks. Generally you do not go both, you still need a shield to protect your backline.
His biggest counter is definitely Pharah, and Echo. But Echo has to stay on the ground some times so she is actually easier to kill as Junkrat. Then hitscan is the best choice, or anykind of ranged hero. I prefer to go Ashe so you can dynamite him around cover and jump over his bombs, also he dies pretty easily with just scoped shots.
Junkrat thrives off of closed spaces, so just play in open spaces, or on point.
Run hitscan, or mobility for tire.
Mcree works well most of the time
Not really…snipers are Junks hardest counters by far and then probably Echo. Pharah while good vs Junk isn’t that hard of a counter once the Junk reaches a certain skill level. Without a dedicated Mercy pocket it’s largely a skill matchup that is in favour of Pharah.
Almost anyone as long as you keep distance and don’t get into a choke against him. He’s super squishy.
Any snipers can deal with Junkrat quite easily.
Pharah and Echo are probably his strongest counters as he can barely touch them.
Zarya is a hard counter because she gets free energy.
Hog is a decent counter if you can land your hooks.
McCree is a strong counter.
Soldier is a decent counter.
Baptiste and Zen are probably the best support counters to Junkrat.
