I dont want to beat a dead horse but junkrat needs some minor changes.
Junk needs either a slight movement speed increase (nothing crazy) or a 25hp increase. Guns have such little to no aim drift and crazy rates of fire and abilties like Sojourns disruptor shot amost kill him because hes so slow.
Get rid if the blinking light on the mine. No one asked for it, was never needed. Blinking mine near our trap negates the trap.
Lastly increase his grenade launcher from 6 to 8 shots. 6 shots in a duel with a long range target pushing you isn’t enough . Your best junkrats average around 25% hit %. Gun dps have a huge advantage here.
These changes are by no means game breaking and wouldnt make junkrat Overpowered but more reliable dps

Most dont even have recoil even fortnite has bloom. These dps have speed abilities, healing, escape. Im not about taking their fun skills away but acting like our mine jump that hangs us in the air like a piñata is sonehiw viable.

I, personally, feel like he needs to be 250hp, given the size of his hitbox is comparable to Torbjörn’s, but slightly skinny on the legs.
More controversially, I think Junkrat needs to divert some of his damage into utility. As a means to avoid another instance of kamikaze Junkrat.
Lower the base damage and reduce the AOE of his frag launcher to 95/65. Increase projectile speed from 25mps to 40mps.
Give an additional 50 armor.
Kamikaze junkrat was never a thing. At best he trades hinself for the kill. It wasnt like he is doomfist that cam get in and out.
Junkratvhad one role he excelled at and that was tank busting and now he cant. Especially because now he has to reload before he cant finish a tank.
Junkrat is one of the most divable heroes in the game. Just wait till he has atleast one mine on cooldown
True, though, his close-range burst is – what I read to be – a problem the community has with the hero.
Finding a way to circumvent this problem, while keeping his damage to a threatening level is quite the conundrum.
That aside, I never really saw Junkrat as a tank-buster, and that archetype can’t really exist in 5v5 for obvious reasons.
Personally, I always saw Junkrat as more of an area-denial hero: he forces the enemy to be aware of their surroundings by sowing chaos, and punishing those who don’t take him seriously.

Yes. Projectile speed is what’s most important for JR to have any chance at relevance in OW2. To compensate they’ll need to lower the damage so he’s not two tapping everything in sight.
Second on his weakness list is his massive hitbox. I mean he’s as big as Junkerqueen and almost as big as Zarya. It’s absolutely ridiculous how easy he is to shoot. If he’s going to be that massive he seriously needs an HP buff. He has the largest non tank hitbox in the game.

I don’t really agree that it’s the only way. More primary impact damage could work, in exchange for less aoe. Or more hp.

I’ll go with more HP at 250 or 50 armor so it is good that we don’t get one shot from Hanzo.

I have always thought trap has the most potential for buffs of any ability in the game. The cooldown was ridiculous is OW1 it may now be fair because of it being one of the only cc abilities in the game. I’ve always wanted it to be changed in to a whole new ability or at least buffed but I guess it’s ok. Junk with 25 or 50 armor seems like the most realistic change to get him viable it would make him useful while not immediately dying to widow lol.
Junkrat felt better in OW2 than he does now, so the changes they DID make worked…ish.
The problem is that the difference in effectiveness between hitscan and projectile heroes was widened considerably in OW2.

I agree with everything you said but even if projectile and hitscan were a fair matchup I still think junk is way undertuned and is in need of a helping hand.
Buff Junkrat, nerf hitscans.
No buffs, only nerfs. Junkrat would be much more viable if hitscans were nerfed down to his level.

Meanwhile…“Losing? Just go hitscan” is a thing in pretty much every match from bronze to gm and everybody knows why.

Experience in OW2 with his increased projectile size and the speed of the trap, he seems fine tbh
