Junkrat Banned in Comp.. please

Why is Junkrat allowed in Competitive?
In many of my games, we beat the enemy team into the ground, and then one of their DPS switch or Junkrat, and then just sit there shooting upwards, hoping to get a kill, it would be fine but he just does so much damage, it’s not fun or enjoyable to play against, and in certain maps like Lijiang Tower or Nepal, he’ll will just walk around the corner with a mine and and shoot you once and your dead, and if you’re a tank he’ll still do the same, and there goes half your health, it’s not fun to fight against because I thought the whole point of Comp was skill, not left click, shift, right click and your dead.
Also his trap does too much damage, just two shots after getting stuck in a trap and you’re a goner.
In conclusion, I don’t think any people find it fun to fight against a Junkrat, there’s nothing wrong with his guns damage, it’s the mine and trap.
And the whole “try to avoid getting in closed corners with Junkrat” or “Try to stay on higher ground than Junkrat” just does not work, because on most maps in the current rotation, there’s barely any high ground, or open areas.

Is that why snipers are meta rn

Here, folks, we have the rather common dilemma, that is often referred to as none other than a “skill issue.”

So he does too much damage?

…. So his damage is fine?

Brother imma tell you something. Junkrat is a TERRIBLE pick high ranks because one shots across the map (widow, ashe, sojourn) exist.
Dva, Pharah, Echo, and possibly Zarya are hard counters to Junkrat. You should try those.

Junkrats TTK is some of the lowest in the game at distance. Almost any dps has a higher TTK than him.
OW1 was very much defense offense where one team held a specific position while the other tried to break it. Junkrat flourished in that play style cause he can just sit back and spam. Now, every tank has higher movement (somewhat), higher tankiness, and dps almost all move at the speed of light and deal high damage. Junkrat is easily outclassed and this is coming from someone whose played Junkrat since beta.

Therefore, he doesn’t need a ban, he doesn’t need a nerf, he needs a rework to fit more into the fast play style of OW2.

I agree, screw Junkrat! :speak_no_evil:

If he is getting kills with that playstyle then Junkrat isn’t the problem… it’s the people walking into his frags.

Junkrat is incredibly noisy… if you/your team is letting him get away with that, then your positioning/awareness is… questionable.

Don’t walk into trap, problem solved… mistakes happen, but if you’re frequently dying to Junkrat traps then it’s not the Junkrat that’s the issue…

There’s plenty of high ground/open spaces, is it possible that you just don’t know how to best use it?

I mostly find him annoying. He’s getting a nerf soon though.

all you gotta do is get to GM where they have special rules where you can tell the opposite team what characters aren’t allowed in your match. Easy peasy

Junkrat is fine imo, I think his projectile size should be reduced though cause sometimes it looks like you’ve dodged it but you die anyways.

It’s very deceptive that the hit box is larger than the model size.

Sorry mate … but Junkrat is easy to counter …
Never chase and for the sake of everyone with more then 2 braincells … never go into a small confined room while this chaotic thing is alive.

Junkrat is literally so easy to counter. If Junkrat is a common problem for you then you either don’t know how to counter him or the junkrats you face are just better than you. Junkrat can barely touch Pharah, she needs a hitscan to take care of her, and if he really is just sitting in a corner like you say then just snipe him. Never chase a junkrat or confine yourself to small areas. Overwatch isn’t meant to be a game of pick your favourite and play them every game. Unless you are a god like pro one trick you will have to counter pick at times because that’s how this game works.

Junk is stupid easy to counter. The only problem with him is yeah, his random spam damage can be a bit stupid from impossible to counter angles. Other than that though, hes a squishy that can be denied almost all of their kit by several heroes.

Gold mentality lol. Legit note tho somewhat unrelated: I absolutely despise that overwatch balances around majority rank now (ie: gold) as in this post people in lower ranks believe high value low skill ceiling heroes like junk and bastion and reaper are meta or op when in high ranks they are absolutely awful and high skill ceiling heroes are all meta. So overwatch balancing around this gold mentality range is so disheartening when in ow1 they’ve always balanced off owl but now god forbid they touch sojourn or widow

Love junkrat

Oh and your tears are yummy.

Yeah, why would they want to balance the game around the majority of the player base?

They should balance it around skill levels that 99% of their players don’t have!

Ah jeez who knows maybe because every other competitive game balances off pro league and overwatch 1 uses to balance off pro league and for the most part I never hated overwatch balance that much when the game was updated frequently. Balancing based off golds going “wahh wahh junk ray annoying torb annoying nerf nerf! But sojourn and widow hard they need big buff!!!” Incentivizes bad play, win a competitive game you should want to do good and rank up if you care but if you know that you’ll have the most fun in gold where devs actually balance around what’s the point in ranking up. If you don’t see the illogic in that method of balance you’re most definitely not fit to give opinions on deving
