Junker Queen's Rampage animation

Is it me or her Q animation looks rather cheap?

Reinhardt has Charge but when he does it, his rocket-propeller armour fires up, the air around him moves and his whole body shakes. You can feel the force and inertia in his charge.

In contrast, with Junker Queen you just see her jump forward in a strange pose, in a straight line, her body not really moving or anything, only her axe(s) rotating. She feels weightless and the whole motion just feels kinda cheap to me.

Does anyone else feel the same?

I’m glad it is not just me then. yeah the animation looks weird and doesn’t stand out for a Q IMHO.

Yeah, I can see it. Maybe if there was a tornado of scrap behind her, or her visually sprinting, it would look a lot better.

As it stands she just moves her legs a bit and power slides, aggressively.

Because she is useing the magnet on her arm to pull her forward and spin her axes, it is like thor and his hammer, he only flys because he hammer is pulling him

Anyone else think the animation doesn’t match the hitbox very well? There were times it looked like I was way above it as pharah and still got hit

Agreed, needs to give her more of a ‘wow’ factor. After all it is her ultimate, it has to look badass.

I agree. It does feel cheap.
You don’t feel the impact on both sides (both JQ and the enemies).

They put most of the budget in her abs.

I agree. The animation is surprisingly rigid. Of course, it’s tricky to make a superhuman, straight horizontal leap look natural, but Blizzard’s animators usually do top-tier stuff.

maybe they didn’t want to make it really distracting? idk, because its not like its a big ultimate compared to earthshatter

It is definitely cheap looking but it may be one of the few things that may get changed before release. Seems like they have ran out of time when making it (or at least I hope that is really the case)

Yeah, this has been my only gripe with JQ so far since they announced her

In the cinematic, the move looks beautiful but it feels like they came up with that video version before figuring out what the ult would even do in-game.

Everything else about JQ is cool but the ult’s visuals definitely score lower for me

It definitely feels like that, despite the large AOE it has.

Because her ultimate is supposed to turn her into like a magnetic propelled bullet shot out from a railgun, while creating a tornado out of metal junk, but we don’t see any clear indication of that tornado in the visuals like we did in the animated short against the Junker King.
