dont worry this will be my last junker queen topic for a while but i am curious what people think, she seems to have a rather large hard counter list with ana,zen,orisa, zarya and rein, there are at least 5 hard(ish) counters to her with both supports being pretty popular with most teams having at least one of them
i mean i know junker queen’s command shout can provide overhealth which isnt affected but nade but 1 it has to be up and 2 its still 200 hp which can be burst down very fast, junker queen has to spend a lot of time hiding behind cover not helping her team when ana and zen exist
orisa is just impossible to kill as junker queen if she has a support on her(and that was before the buffs), i know roadhog also goes pretty well against junker queen, junker queen has a lot of hard counters and for me that is an issue
even as a roadhog main i feel uncomfortable with me hard countering rein, its not helpful for the game
Hardcounters are Bad hero designs. Only counters should exists.

With a bit of bodyshot Hanzos, Reaper, Bastion, and Junks who can aim.
Roadhog also ain’t bad.
Zarya can deny a lot, while returning the damage, but this works better on offence.
And of course, Widows, Hanzos and Soujourns that can land headshots.
And, a better Queen

completely agree but sadly junker queen has a tonne of hard counters, i mean counters obviously need to exist unless you delete every character apart from 1 and only have the 1 characters counters will always exist, its the hard counters where if you dont switch off you lose which isnt great

I’ve been having luck running echo against her as well, just avoid the knife throw.

forgot about echo, anything that flies is a pain for junker queen, especially with that beam…that beam does so much damage

True. Also for what it’s worth, I think there are just some maps that she doesn’t play well on. Based on my beta experience, maps with ample high ground (Gibraltar) and heavy poke dealers (soldier, Ashe, widow, echo) she kind of struggles on. If she can’t ambush a target or close the distance to them she doesn’t seem great.
I don’t think she really has any true individual hard counters in the sense that ‘if they play X, JQ is just useless’. She’s got a metric ton of soft counters and enemy combos which make her difficult to get value from though.
Flying enemies aren’t really any worse than long-range ones and there’s plenty of natural cover around now which can be used to avoid facing them until their advantage isn’t so great.
The closest thing to ‘hard counters’ is enemy teams with a bunch of displacement or damage mitigation abilities.

If I’m support I just pick zen and melt her with discord. On DPS I’ve just been picking junk and the ‘queen’ becomes but a pawn to me. Tank, Zarya, rein, sigma all just roll over her.

maybe i just suck with her but it feels like she has a tonne of hard counters, honestly out of everyone i am more scared of orisa(pre buff, post buff even more scary) and zarya than anyone else
Does weaken affect bleed and therefore adrenaline rush?
If so, I think Moira is a counter but I don’t know.
It does, but I don’t know if it affects bleeds that are already in effect or just bleeds applied while weakened.
Moira isn’t that big of an issue in my experience. Necro orb’s cooldown is too long. That said, people are still getting used to nu moira, so that could change once people figure out not to waste it…

Yes but used on rampage, means she can’t just kill the whole team by herself anymore.
True, it causes problems there. So far Moira players seem too eager to throw the orb at soujourn, so it hasn’t been a big deal for me… yet.

moira is a pain but i wouldnt say she is a huge counter, just a pain however i have not played against new moira yet so i could be very wrong
