Exactly as you said. He can be now more punished for flanking or missteping from team, so he will be more of a middle line betwenn Tank and long range dps/support spamming chokes and narrows. Good job Blizzard not knowing anything about your game
- solution for this kind of JR problem is, decrease the Concusion mine blast radius from 3m to 2m or even 1.5m and decrease a CD… ou yeah, this is when a Goldie as me understanding more the game as devs…

Go and check on junk’s winrate on overbuff below masters this month, then you will realize why he got nerfed.

His pickrates also showed that he is hardly seen above the mid ranges.
Meanwhile, all the top dps are the usual suspects but I guess Junkrat got to get his knee capped off again cause he dared to show his face in the leaderboard.

Played Junk yesterday in my scrims, if you know what you’re doing, it’s not that big of a deal.
The only issue is that this got in first before a Widow/Ashe nerf and at the same time as Tracer/Hanzo buff, which seriously feels wrong on so many level.

The devs use mainly winrate for balance, not pick rate. Since pick rate is heavily affected archetypes/character design/popularity, some heroes will have higher pick rate regardless of the balance/meta.

I guess we should nerf the other heroes for having a higher win rate in the upper echlons like torb, venture, reaper and Ashe too huh?
Cause clearly, their win rate is so much higher.

Reaper did got nerfed. Torb and venture basically belong to the same niche specialist category as sym (very low pick rate, high winrate) which the devs don’t tend to change much. For majority players (gold/plat/diamond), junk has higher winrate than ashe, his overall winrate is also a bit higher than Ashe.
Oh please, that just bull. Junkrat is in the same situation of torb and venture, yet they didnt get nerfed? If blizz even gave half a wit of consistency, those two would be nerfed too, according to you. (Or for that matter, if pickrate suddenly mattered, McCree, soldier, and tracer would also be nerfed).

It’s bs. And they know it’s bs. You don’t nerf Junkrat before an Ashe or WM. And buffing Kiriko and Tracer? As well as Mauga? They have no idea WTF they are doing. But! On the bright side, Marvel Rivals is coming out soon.

Please stop, have you even checked the pick rate for junkrat? He has 2.39% pickrate this month in comp, the 8th of DPS. Widow and tracer are the 6th (2.72%) and 7th 2.61%, respectively. He is far form torb/venture (~1% pick rate).

It’s funny you actually think I was complaining about junkrat. I didn’t make the patch, the devs did. I’m just trying to talk about IMO why he got nerfed.
Junkrat didn’t really need nerfs like that. Especially together with tracer buffs. Urgh.

I went and had a look at Overbuff like you suggested. Junk looks like he’s doing really well in diamond specifically, but at the other ranks his win rate isn’t particularly alarming and his pick rate, while decent, isn’t setting off alarm bells either. He looks to be roughly on a par with Ashe as far as metal goes. At ranks that he has a higher pick rate than Ashe, he has a lower win rate; at ranks where Ashe has a higher pick rate than Junkrat, she has a lower win rate.
It doesn’t help that due to the alphabetical layout of patch notes, Junk and Reaper’s nerfs came before Tracer’s buff, so it reads like a joke with a setup and a punchline.

Nah, if you think that’s the solution to spam playstyle, and not just a complete gutting of Junkrat, the devs still understand the game a little better than you.
