In terms of evasion which do you find is the better option, jumping out crouching?
I’m a jumper, I don’t do it with every hero but I find that it helps with evasion by changing the verticality and by having it binded to L1 on console it helps grup the controller as well.
As I play on PC I don’t do this nearly as much when playing with a Keyboard but I still do it when I play Controller+Mouse. (I’m weening myself off of controller).
I noticed pros mostly crouching when moving evasively, now I feel odd because I’m starting to think I’ve been evading wrong all this time.
Should I be crouching instead of jumping?
Jumping makes you an easy target imo

Jumping has an arc it always follows. Crouching is a bit more variable,

Crouch spam while dealing a widow, don’t spam anything versing a beam hero just shoot them, jump spam when versing whoever else doesn’t really matter if you can aim.

Jumping makes you predictable after you reach the height of your jump

I do a mixture of both depending on who I am fighting.
Snipers such as Ashe and Widow I tend to crouch more. Heroes like Zen and Tracer have hitboxes that move when moving and crouching (Zen esp when he uses right click).
Jumping i tend to use when i want to escape, crouching slows you down so I dont tend to use it as much.

Right. I always thought that crouching would leave you more susceptible to being shot due to character height level. compared to jumping diagonally during strafing.
I’ve started playing Widow a lot more lately while getting use to a lower DPI on a wide desk, I’ve started to crouch more than the jump aim reset.
The speed thing I think is what put me off initially, being on Console for so long they tend to hit you where ever instead of focusing on head shots because there’s less thumb stick precision compared to a mouse. So I thought it would be better to have speed and verticality at the risk of predictability.

Yeee console and pc are different beasts for sure. I just challenge a lot of snipers and they tend to go for the head more than anything so crouching randomly while moving ends either more bullets whizzing by my head.
Though I am still trying to learn Ashe’s shoot rhythm I have Widow’s down.
Like I said it depends on the situation yo what I do in response
Love when people try this. I just aim for their body where their head ends up when they crouch.
Crouching is most effective against heroes going for headshots and AD strafing for those that just need to hit your body. Jumping only really helps in very low ranks, even at mid ranks people start realize how predictable a jump arc is.
None of them, just spam ad. In overwatch it works very well.
crouching moves your head faster than jumping. when are you allowed to jump again compared to crouching
