I stopped playing this game for 3 seasons and still people do not understand how useful and effective good call outs are. A roadhog flanking behind us is very useful, mccree up top. Simple things like that can easily turn the tide of a game but no people still don’t understand.

I agree.

As much as I understand people who do not like VC due to people being toxic (I am actually the first one to leave VC if I get hard breathers, people chewing, eating, blasting some obnoxious music, etc.) I am always the first one to be in VC. As much as one does not prefer to talk (I also always talk in VC but there are moments where I do not feel like talking), there is noting stopping you from listening.

Those callouts in the mid of a huge teammfight can help you win the battle and the match. That single callout either I or one of my teammtes made helped me win more matches than not. I of course also had matches where I won while no one being in VC, but I do like a nice, solid call out and always advocate for those.

Am always going to be the one calling stuff out even if we are losing badly. Getting good at certain callouts can only help you in ranking up but never deter your no matter how much you lose.

Fine. I give in. I’ll join team chat. But i’m doing my (actually very good) Mickey Mouse impression the whole game.

That would actually be very appreciated

Good callouts are indeed effective but unfortunately a lot of bad callouts, negativity, toxicity, and other forms of irrelevant and detrimental communication are just as likely to occur. I feel like the comms are usually only good in games that you are already winning anyway, so I don’t really find them necessary in most ranks. I’d rather not wait for someone to say something toxic or stupid before muting them because at that point I may already be slightly tilted.

Why leave?

Just mute.

Voice chat should be compulsory for Competitive with no option to leave.

It’s absolutely baffling as to why Blizzard do not enforce this.

Only works if there is a way to protect yourself from false reports. Join VC? That hidden 4 stack writes up a report that says you called everyone bad things. The kinds of non pc things that socal hq really doesn’t like.

So no thanks. I prefer keeping my account in a state of plausible deniability. Unverifiable reports exposure is your greatest asset. And I stream questionable games in case I have to prove my innocence in an appeals process or press release.

Me joining VC

“zarya can u wait for my ult so we can combo?”

Zarya random ults

“ana can you nano me i got blade?”

NEVER getting that nano.

so frustrating

its literally impossible to get a well timed nano in low elo LMAO

A tip if you want to climb: join VC and don’t leave unless it’s just toxic / abusive
With some gamesense and aim training, this took me from gold to masters

I’m a hard advocate of not being in voice chat if you know for a fact that it’s going to tilt you. Recently I’ve been default join chat but I will leave at the drop of a hat. The very moment I feel like voice chat is annoying - gone. I leave and do not rejoin. If they then spill it into team chat? /hidechat.

I refuse to be annoyed or hear anyone get attacked. I’ll play in silence or turn on music first.

the best VCs are when u a have trio who instant gang up on you

i died 1st as mccree at the start of the round and they kept telling me to switch and bragged how they had more dmg than me after 15sec.

all private profile, told them to check my career high and they went silent.

I agree. I join VC automatically.

I do mute those players, but there is a certain threshold in how many matches I can mute them, especially since you get them most often than not. Out of 10 played I would get them for like 6-8. I am only human and even tho my tilt level has decreased a lot since I started playing this game, there really does come a certain point where I have to leave to keep my sanity. I am not proud of it, but it happens. Add to that team deciding to throw on hero selection screen due to whatever reason, sometimes even the sturdiest fall. Not always easy to play with 25 year old manchildren.

To be fair , most genji in low elos all go way out of range , or line of sight and expect nano instantly . I’d argue most genji don’t know a good time to blade in low elos more than not getting nanod

Was that on one account, or did you spread the false reports across multiples?

I only type “gg” or join voice if I want to be false flagged for toxicity or saying the N word. I mean hey if those lvl 29s all type “racist in voice” at the same time, I guess you just lose.

My advice: no comms. Took me from bronze border to plat border. And I don’t see many accounts older than bronze so I must be doing something right to survive.

im talking about basic stuff

like dashing in the air and asking for it but nothing happening

He. Low elo/casual here. If I am on Ana I am somehow expecting our Genji to air-dash before blading.

I think it happend ONE time.

More likely my elo-peers will ult around a corner or in a teammate-pulk (Hello nano-Mercy or Boostio!).

Nope, I like to keep my sanity and skill when playing.

Overwatch is a team game. Teamwork is required to complete objectives. Communication is a key component of teamwork. Thus, if you’re playing Competitive, you need to join team chat.

If you don’t, then you’re just showing how selfish you are by refusing to work as part of the team.

Another selfish non-team player.
