Jet’s a stray that was found around Gibraltar, I believe. Brig took her in since she’s a crazy cat lady. Brig then modified the jetpack that she originally built to inspire her poetry (as per the Brig-Pharah interaction) and here we go.
Beyond that, we don’t know. My theory? Jet’s an undercover Talon plant, created by Moira to infiltrate Overwatch. Nobody saw it coming…
Emre’s got some lore on him that I didn’t read/watch. From what I understand, he was an agent of OG Overwatch - he’s on ye olde Overwatch member photoe that was in-game back at launch or so - that went his own way and has seemed to get himself in a spot of bother. It looks to me that he’s got himself some nifty implants, but at the cost of being slave to an AI. (Anubis? I dunno. I never read the lore about Anubis so maybe not.)
Mizuki is a member of the Hashimoto, the criminal organisation that Kiriko’s dead set against. He’s been sent to infiltrate Kiriko’s group of vigilantes but it’s been not-so-subtly hinted that he might go native and flip loyalties to Kiriko and ko. co.
Anran is from the hit show Avatar: The Last Airbender™. She’s the sister of Wuyang, who is also a wizard. A lot of people are upset about her face. (?)
Domina is CEO of Vishkar and a thoroughly bad sort. She’s allied herself with Vendetta’s Talon. Unlike the player base, she’s looking to get Lifeweaver on her team.

Beyond what was added here, her name is Fika (it’s Swedish, Brigitte named her) which translates to “Coffee”.

As we assume it’s Chernobog. One of the “God AIs” is in Finnland and the utlimate voiceline is in Finnland (if I got the location right). He was captured by the conspiracy aka Iris, which is not the Iris Zenyatta is talking about but the one Sombra is talking about

The conspiracy is that thing that brought OW down, destroyed the HQ. We have very little information on it, but it’s confirmed that Emre is linked to it.
His ultimate is called “Override Protocol”, so it makes it pretty clear that the conspiracy can take him over and control him

The cat is just super intelligent for some reason. Maybe an unexplained OW2 magic spirit possessed it.
I guess so that Jet looks distinct? You just know that there would be a million “Blizzard are so cheap, they’re re-using existing assets to make a ‘new’ hero” threads if they used Mitzi.

I guess so but it seems kinda weird Brig would make a whole Jetpack for a stray cat and give Mitzi… a helmet. lol.
It would feel like a more connected world imo.

Mitzi is not a combat cat, but it’s going to have to do something bc JPC is a killer sent by Talon to infiltrate OW and act as double agent. The theories are real.

One possible reason is Briggitte’s emote with Mitzi it in. It would be one of those “time paradox” sorts of things.
But maybe Jetpack Cat is Mitzi from another Universe
