Jeff Kaplan, it's a question of boosting

Before I begin, please forgive me for my poor English as a Korean.
And thanks for creating the game called Overwatch. I’ve never liked any other game so much, but I love Overwatch so much.:heart_eyes:

Hello. I am a user who enjoys playing the game called Over Watch in Korea server. I’d like to talk about a few things this time about " boosting “

First of all, the act is basically to play someone else’s account for a fee. I don’t know what Blizzard thinks, but many users in Korea are suffering from trolls, abusing, and boosting etc. It is getting serious because Blizzard does not impose sanctions. As a result, a host of korean users lost interest in and enjoyed playing games in Korea such as watching the league instead of playing games. I don’t know what the North American server is like. However, this is what the Korean server is running. Korean Overwatch fans are seriously aware of these acts, and I think players who have played ‘boosting’ should never be in the league. It is because it is the current user who is suffering a lot from this, or the one who was the user in the past. Of course, I think it is very unfortunate to hear about the fact that they had to do a ‘boosting’ because they had no money. But I don’t think we should tolerate that bad behavior. At that time, the situation was very poor for Korean players, and many others did not. For those players who think and love to watch, they shouldn’t have done that.

I don’t understand how it is generous to do this, while we put great importance on character and care about every word players in OWL speak. One of the things that is harming the overwatch, and it doesn’t make sense to take it lightly in the Overwatch league, which is now at the heart of the game. And boosting is not a casual act. It hurts every single user who truly loves and enjoys the Overwatch. Nevertheless, it doesn’t make sense to bring in a player who has done boosting that has harmed these users who truly enjoys the leagues. I didn’t know what Blizzard was thinking. But, for instance, the Korean Contenders has released all of its players who do ‘boosting’. Besides, one korean team could not afford to buy earphones. The team’s fans also wondered if the players were eating well. There were some teams and players that didn’t have that much money. Many players don’t do boosting though.

In the second and third division, the team has release the players. But in the first division, only four games and 30 games are suspended. Is this right? No one wants to stress about playing games. I’m not sure about the popularity of the Overwatch in other countries besides Korea. But this is what Korean users are thinking, and Blizzard should recognize it seriously and respond to it strongly.

Lastly, I wish the league would work for a long time, and I really want to go see it later. And at the same time, as a user who loves and enjoys the game itself, I want you to be tough on this situation. I don’t know if I could get my message across to you because I’m not good at writing in English. Nevertheless, I would like to thank you for reading this long writing to the end. I wish the league would work for a long time!!!

I don’t understand why the team is bringing someone like that. Why are you bringing in people who are ruining the game? There are many ways to make money. Nevertheless, would it be fair to continue bringing the person who made the choices that ruin the games he is playing as a professional gamer to the league, the Contenders, and Division? Please make sure you ask about any questions you may or may not be able to understand. (Please understand this article and think about boosting again.I wish such people would be released by the team so that the league is in a more interesting and clean environment.

Boosting is to take the money and raise the score on the other person’s account.
I think the Boosting’s problem is :

  1. Overwatch is a game centered on raising the ranking. However, Boosting continues to threaten the system. That’s why it matters. Simply put, the game system is a mess. (with a slight exaggeration)

  2. The person who scores through boosting is not the same as the people in his class. So people in that class could be damaged

  3. It is wrong in itself to make money from unfair acts.

  • I don’t know because I don’t play NA servers. But on the Korean server, Boosting is systematically operated. It also runs as a big team. This situation makes Korean users unwilling to play games. This is the biggest problem I think of.

Thank you for reading a very long line of text. I don’t want the vicious circle to continue. I’m an overwatch-lover, and I’m a big fan of OWL. As a user of games, it is too hard. Again, I’d like to ask you to take this matter seriously.

I was really disappointed as well to see players caught boosting were being allowed to play in the OWL as well.

Boosting is cheating, and this completely undermines Blizzard’s own words that they have a zero tolerance policy towards cheating.

These players weren’t just boosting a friends account so they could play with them, they were doing it for financial reward. Cheating by manipulating SR, and enabling players to cheat their rank.

FOR MONEY

These are honestly worse than aimbotters and should be treated with as much, if not more contempt. They do exactly the same hard to the game, its matches, and its systems.

Considering there’s boosters in the Owl, I’m going to say they don’t care

I know and thats the whole reason the post was made. Because koreans think its innaceptable that blizz allows boosters or former boosters in the owl

I totally agree on this. I think boosting even for free shouldnt be allowed.

Most of the time boosters at times group up a lot as well, so that while boosting that account it self, that person could boost the people grouping up with him as well.

This is why we also need an option for solo q comp as well.

This was and is happening in World of Warcraft.
We kicked off on the EU forums about it (Can’t find the thread search paid boost and all that shows is complaints about the 110 boost)

I have highlight in bold the clear breach of EULA.

I’m not allowed to link the EULA
