Jeff admits that D.Va eating so many ults was a mistake

Jeff has also said Genji doublejumping was a mistake.

Why hasn’t that one been removed then yet? He jumps atop people’s heads so he can lose them in their FOV and spam it to line of sight people.

Hypocricy, dev hypocricy everywhere.

it’s not the dragon that killed things, it’s the mercy boost applied to it that kills things

it stopped when mercy lost the ability to boost

that combo has been in the game since day 1

It was stopped when they nerfed Zarya tbh.

All of this is incorrect. Genji received his Dragonblade nerf in August of 2016. Season 1 of OWL started in December of 2017. Zenyatta was a core member part of Season 1 of OWL.

Winston was a must pick of Season 1 of league. Because that is what was cited as a problem. Season 1 of LEAGUE. Which saw multiple dps shine especially Tracer, Widow and Genji

This too. I shouldn’t have to wait 3 minutes to get stuff like valk, pulse bomb or whole hog. They do not have power levels to justify a long charge

Well yeah of course Jeff is complaining about it. We were only supposed to DM Junktires with it apparently.

You forgot DM’ing ulting genji. =)

Oh shoot, I guess I can’t do that one either, not with my 10 meter matrix…

Oh and DMing that ulting Pharah.

True, means you can’t DM Pharah now either.

Sigma will crush pharah even more. At least d.va didn’t kill her by eating the ult.

Here’s an idea. What if you ult charge as usual… but then you get only one ult per match?

Some ults that are weaker will have to be buffed… other ults like recall mech would have to be probably be an exception to the rule or be moved to a normal ability with a long CD.

With the way some people go on, you’d think D.Va just walked through the match with DM up all of the time eating every Ult used… which is utter rubbish.

Besides, heaven forbid that there be an option other than hide or get lucky, to avoid “I win” buttons.

Maybe they’ll also admit that almost 50% of this game is a mistake… not likely.

He didn’t say anything of that sort.

Also, DM can still eat ults. That’s not removed.

Fair enough.

He also mentioned the snow ball affect of ultimates, bringing up the koth stats, winning the first team fight snowballs pro teams to winning the round 64% of the time. tied into that, the frequency of who gets how many ults the fastest.

I mean just look at the koth snowball winrate, by koth i mean king of the hill control game type (sic) thats due to ults, that’s due to the game length of your average king of the hill round and the average time it takes to build ults, that’s because of snowballing.

It’s not simply a matter of press q to win and never has been, though it is a problem, it’s not all of it.

if both teams have a lot of ults then you’re fine, if one team has a lot of ults and you don’t then you’re kinda screwed. and the snowballing it creates a lot of the time makes you feel like you’re not going have fun this next team fight.

He’s showing both sides of the coin in his argument. He believes ults are too strong, but he also believes they’re too frequent.

Technically he closes with the thought of not having control over whether you win or lose due to ult’s, which was basically his biggest gripe with the new hero’s as well, due to all of them at the time having some form of major CC that takes that control away from the player.

well that just wasn’t true during season 1 of OWL.

That was a separate conversation. The person I was talking to thinks Seagull meant to exclude dps ults from the conversation. I was telling him Seagull said he had a problem with their power across the board.

Hey, in your own words about Sombra:

Applies here, too.

Imagine thinking Sombra needed nerfs because of league pickrate but D.va is fine. LOL.

i knew she needed nerfs ever since hammond came out

But being able to deflect those ultimates is fine? I really don’t understand where these double standards come from. Why are developers so biased?
