“more legendary skins this year than any other year prior”. I actually like the battle pass system (assuming it’s done fairly) but yeah…
I hope that players will be able to claim the skins by completing certain objectives/grinding the game so that players have 2 options. This is also a good motivation for any player who wants to have certain skins.
Hey, that background in the uprising/retribution scorecards is nothing we have seen before. It’s 100% not retribution’s lobby that you start out in.
Also is that Doom icon based on any of his skins? It’s doesn’t look like painted. Could that be his new look?
Edit: It’s Leopard credit:
I think it’s his other epic skin with the leopard or cheetah print (can’t remember which)
It would also be very important in Overwatch 2 to make sure that challenges could be done in PVE so as to not exclude players who no longer wish to engage with the PVP content.
I’m not a fan of battlepasses as a disabled person with limited playtime: The concern of Activision-Blizzard implementing them poorly is a reality when their current FOMO challenges have players unlocking cosmetics for a PVE expa- sorry for the sequel to Overwatch in PVP.
The current 14/27 model done weekly in PVP can be a significant amount of stress/playtime for those who are limited and isn’t an ideal solution.
Also one thing i noticed in these past few days is that leaks had become much more frequent. Man Blizzard’s NDA is becoming a joke.
Overwatch 2 got leaked months before Blizzcon so it’s really nothing new for them.
Well people under NDAs for the alpha atm….this is just concept art….could even be like 3+ years old
It would be cool if the players have a chance to obtain OWL and OWC portraits in OW2 so that way there would be no portrait toxicity in game.
I can still hate battle passes
Right now if you’re a long time player the lootboxes give you enough coins through dupes to just buy the skins you want, which is easier than grinding a Battle Pass and paying for the premium track.
I’m not saying the Battle Pass isn’t proven to be successful I’m saying that it benefits new players way more than veterans.
They would’ve done alternate reality skins already if they wanted,we already have some like Deadlock Torbjorn.
The historical skins they did for Archives last year didn’t fit the event. This issue could’ve also been solved with a shop + premium currency like other games have.
Anyone surprised about Battle Passes or the Shop hasn’t been paying attention to anything the past few years. They are going to catch up to the rest of the industry and I bet they will handle it way better than their ridiculous competitors handle things. Wait and see with this one, trust me.
Oh I’m waiting to see how they mess it up….cause there are few that are done “well” and in a non greedy way
The purpose of every single game is for them to make money. They will all be greedy no matter what they actually do anyways. I know they’ll handle it better than others though.
Edit: Also we all know the pass will be cosmetic only so realistically it shouldn’t matter since skins aren’t considered content right?
This art will be from before the Microsoft deal. With Microsoft having their game pass system things might have changed in terms of OW2 battlepass and shop.
They really need to differentiate the maps from the characters
Also we all know the pass will be cosmetic only so realistically it shouldn’t matter since skins aren’t considered content right?
Yes but also remember a lot of people (especially more casual players, myself included admittedly) are quite fond of skins. I’m not saying this is what you’re saying, but using “it’s only cosmetic” as an excuse to have a terrible system is not great obviously, Just see the backlash halo infinite got for its battlepass (though to be fair halo infinite had a comically terrible battle pass comapred to other games, from what I know)
I actually have good hopes that they’ll do it well just like you said to be completely honest. Mostly because ow had a fair system using lootboxes despite what the rest of the industry was doing with them (and a lot of overwatch fans expect something that is more monetizable but not exploitative as a result).
I am confident they will actually try to remain as consumer-friendly as possible when it comes to this. If they truly didn’t then I’d have no real words left. Trust me I care about the skins too, I own all of them. So used to everyone brushing it off as not content though.
