I've been suspended for literally no reason

I was playing the game earlier today, quit fine hours ago.

Go to re-login now, suspended until the 30th August.
I’m gonna miss the whole Summer Games and I’ve no idea why.

Thanks Blizzard for your totally not flawed auto-report system.

What behaviour? There’s literally no reason given for my suspension, it just says “account locked until August 30th”

Because I don’t have any. I literally have no idea what the problem was.

I’ve been suspended in the past for Abusive Chat, which I admit was justified, but this time I’ve literally done barely anything since, not enough to warrant an even longer suspension.

I tried but it says I need SMS code that was sent to a mobile number ending in 28, mine ends in 12. I have no idea how that even works.

I doubt you’d randomly be suspended until the 30th if you didn’t do anything.

Yeah, like I said, it was justified back then I was toxic in chat a lot, but since then I’ve barely done anything.

It feels like now with a few suspensions on my head, if I receive any reports, even fake ones, I get punished. It’s like I can’t really do anything if I’m fake reported, I just have to deal with it.

I think automatic punishments are really dumb, because Blizz should look into all of their cases so people aren’t questionably suspended.

I think the “No Reason” means that Blizzard doesn’t give a reason to why you are banned.

It’s one of the many flaws with Blizzard’s moderation. They give no guidance on what needs to be changed or remedied about ones behavior. It’s like someone shows up to your door, tells you you’re going to jail, but never tells you what crime you’ve committed.

If you genuinely didn’t do anything then go contact. But it sounds like someone may have had a gripe and your account was close to triggering the automatic ban again? I’m not sure dude :frowning: hopefully you can clear it

Do they have a customer support email?
I tried opening a ticket but it has a different SMS code number than my own so I’m not sure what the deal is with that.

I feel like just because I’ve had abusive chat suspensions in the past, any false reports for me are just assumed to be true and I can’t really “clear my name” in a sense.

It’s a shame, I love the game, and barely ever get toxic in chat anymore (I mean I was endorsement level 3, so I clearly tried to be a sportsman and good teammate and did ok at it) but still I get fake reported by people who don’t like me playing Sym (Sym main) for example. It’s a shame because now I’ve lost all my endorsements, so I’m back to square one in that sense too.

I mean sure, everyone gets a little irritated (especially with how broken certain aspects/heroes are currently in the game), but compared to how I used to be it’s minimal.

I wish there was a way to clear my previous record and start fresh because it feels like anyone who doesn’t like me in their game (whether that be teammate or enemy) can just report me and get me closer to punishment…

it sounds as though there is no decay system set up for offenders or repeat offenders.

I think there definitely should be, it’s really difficult to even justify myself in front of others when it comes to this because people assume I’m just a toxic & bad player automatically because of past experiences.

That would require Blizzard actually caring about their game. This and the state of competitive mode shows they don’t. They’re fine just automating everything, including bans.

I mean to be fair it just sounds more and more suspect the more details you give.

Your first post: I’ve literally done nothing wrong
Next post: Okay maybe I was banned before but have done nothing since
Third post: Okay, okay I’ve barely done anything since.

I’m not condemning you, but if you’ve been suspended for bad behavior before and have since just gotten a few more reports, that’s all it would take. I don’t want to straight up say the ban is warranted…but it doesn’t sound completely unwarranted either.

But to me, that’s a problem. I don’t want old silly mistake I’ve made to be held over me to the point where anything I do in game can get me reported and suspended.

It’s pretty unfair. I feel pretty helpless in this situation, like I can’t say or do anything that goes even slightly against Blizzard…
