Ive always said cheating wasnt that bad in this game

but this season is honestly pathetic. all the plat players wondering why their games are full of smurfs, its because if people played on their mains all they play with is cheaters.

like, I remember a few years ago when apex was the cheaters game and that was nothing compared to this. If I could swear I would but this is genuinely the sorriest excuse of an anti cheat I have ever seen.

The fact that it exists at all means it’s nowhere near the bottom from my perspective. There are the ones that ban you for having benign background apps running. Then there are the ones that are rootkits designed to help malignant people steal information from you.

in all honesty, it might as well not exist.
but since you want to put it that way, the fact I used the word anti cheat and not the word lack of sort of implies that its the worst amongst the games that do actually implement some form of anti cheat.

oh you mean the industry standard? oh no, whatever will we do.
i’d rather have kernel level anti cheat that cheaters.

Bro, even smurfing is not safe anymore. Reading this forum, I came to the conclusion that people can not distinguish smurfs from cheaters. But I went there in silver5 and grind my way up to m5 just to see that like 70% of these games are not legit, almost every game has at least 1 smurf. And in like 15% of the matches I see all the types of cheats, 15% Karl! That’s a LOT! These widows on koth maps are the major sign to me. Who plays widow if that is not busan or illios ruins? Then these pepegas with 0 gamesense that aim W signs on their screen, seems "natural af, lol. Their aiming patterns are so lol. Not to say that most of these cheaters have really cheap hacks, and they don’t even bother hiding them. How this game allows that? I mean, cheap cheats should be detectable, right? I guess not!

Playing in silver-plat a year ago, I’d be like, man, this is boring, let me go diamond at least where the challenge begins. These days, holly hell, I gotta smurf protect my pepegas every game and solo carry these matches to win, when I just want to play pacifist torb. Went ashe, 50% crit is not enough because they have a tank smurfing, ggs. I feel like these lobbies are harder than my masters games have recently been. Like, there are 1 out of 5 games legit.

Yeah, I understand when dps is smurfing, because that role is useless if you play in high elo, you know. No amount of mechanics will back you up of how broken tanks and supports are in this game, you will never know until you improve. And all these “Tanking experience is bad” topics, just shut up already, you don’t know what tanking is. The only reason you struggle is that you are either OTP dummie, or don’t understand fundamentials, and your rank peak speaks for itself. Even though, with half-decent mechanics you can left-click all the way up to diamond onetricking any tank basically.

And when it comes to supports, I onetricked Bap 85% of a time in OW2, and still don’t understand why do I play dps at this point. Better damage, ez highground access, burst actually kills stuff, unlike some soldier that tickles, why he is still at 19 damage when the falloff exists in this game and everything is fat at 250 hp???

Idk why I went from smurfing to cheating to role disbalance, just venting I guess, thanks for coming to my TED talk, though.

I’m not convinced there is anticheat in this game, particularly in Asia lol.
They need more players to inflate numbers and for the small chance even cheaters drop some $$$

so is valo but you don’t hear about people cheating nearly as often.

Also, it wasn’t free for me. The fact that Blizz then took away the game I paid for is a different story.

That’s just ignorant hogwash right there.

Kernel level anti cheat has been around for years now with millions of people using them.

What you’re typing is just a conspiracy theory which couldn’t be farther from the truth.

Anti cheat software = Monitoring software, nothing more.

If people want access to our computers, there are far easier ways to go about it than going through a kernel level anti cheat software, because if they want to do that, they would need to actually brute force their way into your computer, something they don’t have to, if you use an internet browser with poor security features while browsing shady websites etc.

Kernel level anti cheat doing live bans is the way to go for any respectable FPS game. Live bans doesn’t alert cheat developers, as they have managed to stay one step ahead ever since the first online game cheats were developed due to insider leaks. These leaks continue regardless of whether or not they do ban waves or live bans. All they need to do is leak the date for the ban wave or simply leak the latest anti-cheat update codes and pass it on to the cheat developer, who by the way, pay good money for that info, so they can stay that one step ahead of the devs.

As long as there are insiders leaking info to cheat developers, they will always stay one step ahead, but live bans help the player base more than ban waves will ever do.

What ban waves do to the player base on the other hand is that it ruins the experience for the players for weeks and months at a time, up until the ban wave goes out. There’s nothing positive about doing ban waves in a competitive FPS like this. The impact is has on the player base in general is extremely negative.

What these developers need to do is crack down on these leaks internally and find whoever’s leaking info and get them blacklisted in the industry so they can never get a job there, ever again. That’s the only real way of preventing cheat developers from gaining access to the latest update codes to the anti-cheat softwares that enable them to stay one step ahead. Unfortunately, some dev studios can’t be bothered using resources on an internal man-hunt

The only things preventing someone from releasing a kernel-level anti-cheat that steals data from you is morality and the law. If someone doesn’t care about either of those, they can release a game with an “anti-cheat” that steals your data.

Yeah, the established ones are fine. You know why? Because the money they make from contracts is worth more than stealing data and dealing with the law afterwards.

I’m talking about it being technically possible, not that it’s rampant or anything else those deluded losers spread. The OP heavily exaggerates how bad the OW anti-cheat is by saying it’s the worst anti-cheat they’ve ever seen, so I referenced that it can’t be worse than it not existing as well as the actively malicious ones that are technically possible. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that the Chinese government uses them to spy on their own people as well as those in Taiwan. They do it with other methods, what’s stopping them from doing it with “anti-cheat” software?

And Google is just a search engine, isn’t it.

Yeah sure buddy. You need to lay off those conspiracy theories right there.

No developer would gain anything from releasing malware to their paying clients.

Again, lay off those conspiracy theories buddy.

No, they’re actually not exaggerating one bit. I’ve worked with anti-cheats in the past and this is by far the worst one i’ve come across. It’s even slightly worse than XignCode and GameGuard.

Not entirely sure what you’re hoping to accomplish by spreading so much false and misleading information, but let me assure you that whatever conspiracy theories you and people like you spew all over the internet, it’s not gonna matter since most people can tell the difference between a conspiracy theory and facts.

If we want a safe environment in-game, we need a strict anti-cheat that detects and does live bans upon detection. The current system relies 100% on player reports, which is the worst system you can ever have in a competitive game such as this.

Blizzard need to work on a deal with one of the major anti-cheat developers that uses kernel level protection in their software, because they’ve proven without a doubt, that the one they’re using now on top of doing ban waves, is not working in our favor as players

Well, it sure ain’t no anti-cheat.
