As stated above I’ve used my two slots.
One for a person that is currently ranked at 2169SR while I’m at 2782SR. I reached 2959SR season high while this person only reached 2202SR. On top of that he was being abusive in chat, claiming my soldier was awful. He even claimed he was silver in DAMAGE as Moira the only round he healed, by this time we were at the 3rd round in Numbani where both payloads got to the end. That’s how I knew he was the problem. Claiming he’s silver DAMAGE while he was DPS for the two previous rounds… I mean come on! I healed every round expect the 3rd.
The other person was also in Gold but I don’t remember their name so I just blocked the person he was with.
Oh fun! Where art thou in Competitive?

lol, if you “main” a hero, you dont understand overwatch. youre playing checkers instead of chess.

I think this is a great point!
When I introduced my friends to overwatch they would play the same characters every time and go on about how great they are. But I could play 4/5 dps well, a couple tanks well, 2 healers well and a couples defense!
The whole point of the game is to switch characters but no one wants to do that! Might as well just play paladins or something like that if you want to main

That’s ironic you say that because based on this season I would consider you a Pharah main since you have the majority of playtime there. Also, maining a hero is usually the best strategy for climbing because spreading yourself thin to try to master multiple heroes usually results in a lower SR than sticking to mainly one and occasionally switching.

i actually only play pharah on defense. i find shes much more effective when the enemy has to come into close spaces.
The other 10 heroes you see that i have 50+% winrate are what i fill on offense.
edit: i also quickly switch off her to other heroes if htey have counters so that gets added to it as well. also on pharah for defense, her ult is great for shutting down a moira ult and push.
the mastering heroes part should happen before you enter comp. which you shouldnt do until you cna play at least 1 dps, healer, and tank sufficiently
And meanwhile 1 tricks(ESPCIALLY sym 1 tricks) are playing Go(Very strategic Chinese board game)
I’m saving mine for people who are extremely toxic or obviously throwing.

This actually proves that we don’t need more than 2 slot. What dumb reasons to avoid team mates.

I’m about to avoid you right now. Sounds like a symmetra main to me.

Someone should explain this to all those OWL players with mains (hint: 90% of them) so they can understand the game and start playing “chess”.
In reality, people have mains and that is completely in the spirit of the game. Having one hero you favor and a small, related pool you invest time in to learn, is optimal and fits with out the game is designed.

Lost 100 SR yesterday due to throwers in high plat very annoying 2 slots not enough need more!
Your can’t “master” a hero before entering comp.
I don’t know where you are getting these rules about what people should do, but they aren’t accurate or reasonable.

Your speaking of pros and trying to justify your reason of being a Platinum One trick. Being a “Main” means only playing that Role. It means if you switch, you only switch to heroes in that role. Example: A Healer main will only play healers period. Tanks will only play tanks. Dps mains only play Offense & Defense heroes. If you’ve been playing for 10 seasons and still do not understand that concept. You belong in plat! Oh and don’t worry jeff is right beside you as a Hanzo one trick. Hence why the game is in the terrible state its in. Thanks for Avoid this teammate though. This game is finally going back to season 1 era.

I’m not a one trick. I do main Zen, but I have plenty of hours on other heroes. I do switch. It’s just that Zen fits into almost every situation and usually people are happy to have me, so the lionshare of my hours end up on Zen. And yes, my goal is to learn to play all supports well.
Being in plat isn’t shameful? I mean, I’m an average player at this game. Nothing wrong with that.

Gee, is that how you got to 1824SR?
You might be possibly higher SR if you spent the time and learned a handful of heroes instead. Even pro’s have mains that they excel at, but swap off if the game demands so.
Playing checkers gets you a lot farther then chess at this game.
I just read your 6 stack post. Do you play in 6stacks? Because if you do you won’t need to play with syms.
I will show you the path.
I don’t think that’s true. There’s a difference between one tick and mains. Everyone has mains. Maisn are the characters you play the most and are very good at. It’s alwasy ebtter to specialize in 4-5 heroes and be very good then just flex to every hero.
One tricks are a plague, peple with mains are fine.
I Main zen, rein, reaper, and moira, and im starting to pick up dva.
Maining 1 hero is bad. Main 3-5. More than that isn’t good either. You should know how to play most heroes imo but not main more than 5 otherwise you’ll never git gud at all of them
