It's time to add "Comp Points" to Quick Play

There is no incentive to play Quick Play. Competitive has an end goal of SR increases and shiny weapons. What does Quick Play have? Absolutely nothing.

For veteran players, Overwatch gets stale when there feels like no reward for winning a game or even just playing the game.

Quick Play needs something to encourage casual players to keep playing. Give us something to grind for!

You’re casual, you don’t grind. Isnt that the opposite of a casual?

Maybe they should add like little side missions to complete as u play like get x amount of kills on junk rat. I guess

Been saying this for years now, QP gets the gold weapons and comp gets SR.

XP is for everything in the game, even endorsements.

It’s time to add a worthwhile competitive point reward. So far there is nothing worth spending them on.

We should rework the entire system at this point

Maybe in MMOs. But in FPS, casual just means “don’t play the game very seriously”. For example, I don’t like to play ranked often but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to feel rewarded for winning games and playing Overwatch.

thats why I only play comp

No. Comp points are supposed to be rewards for playing competitive.

QP is supposed just for fun or to play a quick game. There isn’t supposed to be an incentive to play other then if you want it.

Where did the developers say that?

If your game needs some external incentive to get you to play, your game design has failed somewhere along the way.

Most games have systems to incentivise players coming back. Paladins, Fortnite and CoD all have battle pass systems for players to grind for. I’m not saying Overwatch needs a battle pass system, but it’s clear other successful games/franchises are using incentives to bring players back.

Sure. And if your entertainment product, meant to entertain, where “be entertained” is the main draw, is unable to draw and maintain an audience without said external incentives, then your game design has failed somewhere along the way. Nobody ever had to mail me a coupon to get me to play Mario.

I’ve been playing this game since beta. I have a collective 1065 hours in QP and 123 hours in competitive. QP doesn’t need any sort of incentive. If I’m being incentivised to just win every game I’ll play the same few heroes. The heroes I’m not that good at will stay that bad because why would I play Widowmaker if it significantly lowers my chances of winning?

I play this game to have fun. QP is fun without an incentive.

Tbh the incentive of QP is that the difficulty of matches is way higher compared to comp.
Sure there are the occasional matches where the opposing team just gets demolished.

Fun is a good incentive :man_shrugging:.

Why would there be a reward? The rewards are to get people into competitive and then if you don’t want to be competitive you play QP. No pressure, no reward other than (occasionally) fun. Why do people always want rewards for everything they do in life these days? (yes, I’m sounding old…). You probably want SR when you lose in comp too?

If qp had comp points, I’d at least play less competitive. A lot less possibly since there’d be no reason to even play comp.

I’m all for it. There should imho be no reason to play comp other then for the desire to play competitively. I dislike comp exclusive rewards other then maybe some rank badges and such. I don’t like the idea of incentivising people to play comp who don’t want to play comp. It simply adds more people to the comp queue who probably shouldn’t be there.

Let people get golden guns outside of comp so that people IN comp are there FOR comp.
