Blizzard have made it pretty obvious they won’t be addressing Mercy any time soon, so unless Mercy mains get louder, they’re going to need help. Easiest way to do that is to support other heroes who have been neglected or had their playerbase ignored in favour of changes that didn’t help the character.
It’ll help improve their standing within the community and in turn more support, in theory of course. But, that would mean getting people to actually work together and when Mercy mains can’t even decide on what’s the best way to approach the situation, you’ve got no chance of convincing them to help others.
I miss the Mercy that felt like playing an RTS and a survival horror game at the same time. It was really punishing if you make any mistakes, but when you were successful it felt like being king of the world.
Mercy’s lost the survival horror and most of the RTS elements that make her 1.0 form so engaging. I miss it, and I don’t understand why the people who like Valkyrie seem to be entrenched in “if multirez comes back, I won’t have fun with Mercy anymore”.
Like, Valkyrie can be Mercy’s new E (albeit shorter and probably without the chain beams) if multirez comes back! The “pro-valkyrie” crowd won’t lose any fun, and folks like me will get back the RTS gameplay we liked about Mercy 1.0!
If it wasn’t for these 2 groups there wouldn’t be any mercy threads. It is just a war between like 30 trolls…but i wouldn’t know anything about that…cough /shiftyeyes.
Every thread is the same people arguing endless about the same things until one of them decides to create ANOTHER mercy thread to start it all over again
Part of the problem (most of it) is that no matter how good the points either side might have, we don’t have any response from the devs to decisively end the debate one way or another.
We got confirmation over a year ago that they don’t have any plans to revert Mercy back to her 1.0 form. But we still have no statement confirming or denying the possibility of multirez ever coming back in any shape or form. We still have no idea how they feel about the topic of another Mercy rework.
1: Repetedly adressing responds to other people, Pherhaps in mass, for example one person says something, and this group of 20 people atleast half, respond to this one person,
thats 10 posts for them, and 1 for the other person,
Repeat this process and you may get that huge difference
It promotes toxicity…and fuels the flames for people to keep doing it just for “revenge”.and due to how the reporting system works, some people may get banned unfairly because of it,
But the ENTIRE point of this forums is to DISCUSS STUFF
to give feedback, and now people are not suposed to give feedback about very specific topics because some people just mass flag everything.
i can agree with the chain beams, They could easily be brought into an E with some sort of falloff between them, have the healing of the initial target be halvened among the others,
But the duration is not an intrinstic thing of the ability, otherwise its already “not the same” due to the duration nerf
as long as we keep the chain beams and free flight, its still the same, but thats a matterfor another thread
If you’re referring to the recent Titanium thread, it was rather long and repetitive without viable or feasible proof of what they were claiming. It had also been said a thousand times before, or more.
According to whom? Toxic people? Toxic people will be toxic no matter the hero or the player. This thread seems pointless. It could cause more of the thing you wish to stop.
Ignoring things you disagree with is difficult. Could you ignore something claiming your favourite hero was “bad”, “braindead”, and “broken”, when you know it isn’t true?
Everyone has opinions. But there are facts that disprove opinions. This doesn’t include biased or irrelevant statistics that prove nothing that some claim they do.
There are more than two views on Mercy. It isn’t black or white. I myself am happy with Mercy the way she is, but wouldn’t be opposed to change.
A useless debate is useless. The problem is the people who choose to believe a debate is useful or useless when it is quite the opposite.
This is difficult when most people, myself included, are guilty of struggling to resist the urge to have the last word.
I slightly disagree with this. Valkyrie is not one thing. It does many things, and different people will find certain parts more or less fun. Chain beams are her most notable impact in Valkyrie. But it isn’t unreasonable to think they could be changed to be more impactful or fun. It might be difficult to balance a more powerful healing beam since Mercy has such high survivability, consistent healing, and the ability to resurrect the dead. But it isn’t impossible. Changes to Mercy are unnecessary, but if they are good changes I don’t think it would hurt to try them.
